Israeli Navy ships attacked, on Thursday morning, Palestinian fishing boats in Gaza territorial waters, west of Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the costal region, and abducted two fishermen.
Eyewitnesses said the soldiers fired many live rounds at fishing boats, and abducted Orans Sultan and Mohammad Sultan, before taking them, along with their bots, to Asdod (Ashdod) Port.
It is worth mentioning that, several months ago, Orans was abducted by the navy, when the navy ships attacked a number of fishing boats in the same area, and as released later.
Israeli navy arrests two Palestinian fishermen
The Israeli navy arrested on Thursday morning two Palestinian fishermen while fishing off the northern Gaza Strip shores.
The Palestinian Center for Human Rights reported in a statement that Israeli gunboats attacked Palestinian fishing boats in the morning while sailing off the Waha area, northwest of the town of Beit Lahiya.
The Center noted that the Israeli gunboats opened fire at the Palestinian boats, and captured one of them with two fishermen on board. The arrested fishermen are Mohammed Ghaleb Al-Sultan, 25, and Orans Sharif Al-Sultan, 21, from Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Center asserted, according to its field researchers, that the Israeli navy forced the fishermen to take off their clothes, jump in the water and swim towards the Israeli war boats, where they were arrested.
He pointed out that the Israeli gunboats tried to sink the fishing boat by firing at it directly, causing a serious damage, but the fishermen who were in the area managed to reach the boat and pulled it towards the Gaza beach after about two hours of the incident.
The Center condemned the ceaseless Israeli attacks against Palestinian fishermen, calling for an immediate end of the policy of hunting down the fishermen and allowing them to fish in the sea and practice their work freely.
The Center called for the release of arrested fishermen, and compensating victims for the physical damage they suffered.

The spokesman of Hamas Movement, Hazem Qasem, said that the Israeli shelling that targeted Gaza at dawn Monday, is a failed attempt to end the ongoing uprising that erupted after the US President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Qasem pointed out that the Israeli air strikes aimed at pressuring Hamas Movement due to its continuous support for all of the ongoing events of the Jerusalem Intifada (uprising) across the Palestinian territories.
“Our people will not be intimidated by the Israeli repeated airstrikes and crimes. Our people will continue the Intifada until the US recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel is annulled and the liberation of Palestine is achieved”, the Hamas spokesman said.

Since the outbreak of the current intifada (uprising) 10 days ago, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have killed eight Palestinian citizens and wounded 535 others, mostly in shooting attacks, in different areas of the besieged Gaza Strip.
According to the health ministry in Gaza, four Palestinians were killed in sniper attacks east of Gaza city and three others in Jabalia during the recent protests, which were organized inside Gaza border areas against the US recognition of Occupied Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
There are also seven citizens who have suffered serious injuries during the same protests, a spokesman for the health ministry said.
47 children, the youngest of them only six months old, and eight women were among the wounded, the spokesman added.
The health ministry accused the Israeli army of using excessive and deadly force against Gaza protesters and deliberately targeting ambulance crews during the events.
14 ambulances sustained damage and several paramedics suffered from their exposure to direct teargas attacks, its spokesman said.

Another three missiles targeted a building in al-Waha resort, also in northern Gaza, causing widespread damage in the place, the sources added.
A spokesperson for the Israeli occupation army said the air raids were carried out after rockets fired from Gaza landed in Ashkelon.
Earlier, the Hebrew media claimed that a Palestinian rocket hit a house last night in Netiv Haasara settlement near the border with Gaza, causing no casualties.
Israel’s Channel 2, for its part, said that some buildings and vehicles sustained material damage in the rocket attack on Netiv Hasara, adding that another rocket landed in a nearby open area.

Israeli naval forces opened fire on Palestinian fishermen off the coast of Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza Strip on Friday morning.
Locals said that no injuries were reported among fishermen.
Israeli military incursions inside the besieged Gaza Strip and near the “buffer zone," which lies on both land and sea sides of Gaza, have long been a near-daily occurrence.
The Israeli army also regularly detains and opens fire on unarmed Palestinian fishermen, shepherds, and farmers along the border areas if they approach the buffer zone, as the authorities have not made clear the precise area of the designated zone.
The practice has in effect destroyed much of the agricultural and fishing sector of the blockaded coastal enclave, which has been under an Israeli air, land, and sea blockade for 10 years.
