Palestinian sources have reported, Tuesday morning, that an Israeli tank fired a shell into a farmland, east of the al-Boreij refugee camp, in central Gaza.
The sources said the shell led to extensive damage; no injuries were reported until the time of this report.
Eyewitnesses said soldiers, stationed near the border fence, fired the shells, adding that the attack was unprovoked, especially since a number of villagers were just working on their lands.
Israeli soldiers frequently attack Palestinian farmers, in areas close to the border fence, and repeatedly deny them access to their lands, in direct violations of the Egyptian-mediated ceasefire agreement on August 26, 2014.

The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) welcomed in a press release Monday a donation of US$ 1 million from the government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for the agency.
The contribution will support emergency needs in Gaza, including reconstruction, the statement underlined.
The Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the United Nations, Ambassador Masood Khan, presented the donation to the Director of the UNRWA Representative Office in New York, Richard Wright.
UNRWA Commissioner-General Pierre Krähenbühl thanked the government of Pakistan for this generous contribution: “UNRWA is extremely grateful to the Government and people of Pakistan for this exceptional gesture, which will help alleviate the suffering of Palestine refugees in Gaza, in particular those living under extreme hardship following the summer’s hostilities and large-scale destruction.”
Israel's summer offensive on Gaza had caused a large devastation in the Strip, killing more than 2100 people mostly children, and leaving tens of thousands homeless.

The Israeli military watchtowers set along the Gaza border fence on Sunday night opened fire at Palestinians’ farmlands east of Khan Younis city, to the south of the Gaza Strip, in a renewed violation of the ceasefire accord signed in Cairo.
Local sources said the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) deployed near the Kissufim military base targeted Palestinians’ agricultural tracts along the outskirts of Khan Younis with randomly-shot barrages of gunfire, causing mild damage to crops.
No injuries have been reported yet, the same sources reported.
A series of flagrant Israeli violations of the Cairo-brokered ceasefire agreement has recently been detected as the IOF has frequently targeted Gaza’s fishermen and land tracts with volleys of gunfire unleashed on a quasi-daily basis.

The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) condemned the continued attacks expressed great concern over the repeateded targeting of fishermen and their livelihoods.
An investigation revealed that, at approximately 18:30 on Saturday, 06 December 2014, Israeli gunboats stationed off northwest of al-Waha shore, northwest of Beit Lahia town, in the northern Gaza Strip, opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats sailing within 2-3 miles and, then, surrounded 5 fishing boats boarded by 12 Palestinian fishermen.
All the fishermen were abducted and taken to an unknown destination, their boats and fishing nets confiscated, equipment damaged.
The fishermen were identified as:
· Safwat 'Abdel Malek Hasan al-Sultan (30) and Sa'ed Ziyad Mahmoud Zayed (32); both from al-Salatin neighborhood, who were on a boat belonging to Fahmi Mahmoud Mohammed Zayed. Israeli forces confiscated their boat and fishing nets.
· Mahmoud Mohammed Mohammed Zayed (29) and his brother Ahmed (30), from al-Salatin neighborhood, who were both on a boat belonging to their father. The boat was confiscated and fishing nets were cut and confiscated.

PCHR condemns the continued Israeli attacks against Palestinian fishermen in the Gaza Strip, and:
1. Calls for immediately stopping the policy of chasing and arresting Palestinian fishermen, and allowing them to sail and fish freely;
2. Calls upon Israeli forces to release the detained fishermen and compensate them for the material damage that might have incurred to them; and
3. Calls upon the international community, including the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, to immediately intervene to stop the Israeli violations against the Palestinian fishermen and allow them to sail and fish freely in the Gaza Sea.

Norwegian doctor, Mads Gilbert, recently denied entrance into the Gaza Strip, says that Israel exercises the siege on the region in an increasingly harsh and brutal way.
On a recent edition of the Al Jazzera program, 'Without Borders', Gilbert commented on being banned for life from entering Gaza by Israel, saying:
"This is not about me. This is about Israel denying the Palestinian people in Gaza international support."
According to Al Ray, the doctor narrated a number of tragic stories he personally witnessed, while working at Gaza's al-Shifa Hospital, during the most recent Israeli military aggression.
He explained: "The truth on the ground is very inconvenient for Israel. Anyone who conveys that truth is unwanted. Israel does not want anyone to convey the massacres that it committed, against innocent civilians in Gaza, to the out[side] world."
Responding to a question about being charged of anti-Semitism by Israel, Dr. Gilbert says that he is anti-racist, and is active in Norway, in the movement against racism, and that Israel must provide a proof that he constitutes a threat to Israel's security.
On his motivation for travelling to the most dangerous areas in the region, he says that he lives in a rich country, in peace, and enjoys all the pleasures of life, and feels it his duty to share his good fortune with people who are not so lucky.
He warns of the long-term health impacts of the siege, and especially those inflicted on the children. He noted that al-Shifa received more than 6,000 cases during the 51 days of "Operation Protective Edge", this past summer.

Dr. Gilbert adds that he does not think that there is another place in the world where there are people who are trained on crisis and emergency management like the people in Gaza.

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened machinegun fire at Palestinian citizens and farmlands to the east of Khan Younis city in southern Gaza Strip on Saturday morning.
A field observer said that the soldiers in Kissufim outpost opened their machineguns at residential neighborhoods and cultivated land lots.

The Israeli Occupation Authorities (IOA) prevented an Irish delegation
headed by Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams from visiting Gaza Strip while on
a three day trip to the region.
In a statement, Adams expressed disappointment and described his blocked visit as a hostile move to the peace process.
“Preventing me from traveling to Gaza and talking to those citizens who have survived three Israeli assaults in the last decade, and who are besieged and in need of a massive aid to rebuild their shattered economy and society, runs contrary to the needs of a peace process and is very unhelpful,” he said.
“The people of Palestine have the right to national statehood. It’s not an issue for negotiation. It is a principle and a right. The international community has an obligation to support this and to uphold international law.”
Adams had previously visited the besieged Strip of Gaza in 2009, when he met with former Prime Minister Ismail Haneyya. He reportedly called for lifting Israeli blockade on Gaza, calling it “illegal.”
On the other hand, Israel's ambassador to the EU in Brussels David Walzer said that Israel is working on preventing an EU vote on the recognition of the state of Palestine expected to be held later this month.
Walzer told Israeli radio that Israel's delegation to the EU has been holding urgent meetings with political consultants and members of the European Parliament in an attempt to cancel or foil such a vote.
Following Sweden's official decision and symbolic votes in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Spain, the European Parliament is expected to vote on a draft resolution that would recognize a Palestinian state.

Dr. Ashraf al-Qidra, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, has reported that two young Palestinian men have been shot, and injured by Israeli army fire, east of Jabalia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
Dr. al-Qedra said the two young men, in their twenties, were shot in the legs, and are currently receiving treatment in the Kamal ‘Adwan Hospital, in Beit Lahia.
Dr. al-Qedra stated the two were nearly a 100 meters away from the Israeli fence, across the border with Gaza.
The Israeli military claimed nearly 70 Palestinians approached the “security fence," and that the soldiers fired live rounds into the air, in addition to rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas bombs, “in order to disperse the Palestinians."
It is worth mentioning that, on November 23, Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian, identified as Fadel Mohammad Halaweh, 32, allegedly after he, along with another Palestinian, approached the “security fence” east of Jabalia.
Eyewitnesses said the two were hunting birds, and in contrary to Israeli military allegations, did not approach the fence.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) accused on Saturday the Palestinian unity government of neglecting Gaza Strip, calling upon it to bear its obligations towards the humanitarian crisis in the Strip.
In a statement, the PFLP pointed out that the deliberate negligence of the Palestinian people's needs in Gaza deepened the catastrophic situation in the Strip.
The unity government has disclaimed its obligations in Gaza especially in the health sector which led to a real health disaster in the Strip’s hospitals and medical centers after cleaning companies halted their services for not being paid for the past nine months, the statement said.
The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip that has reached its worst point and is threatening to explode, the PFLP underlined, calling upon the unity government to bear its national and moral responsibilities in Gaza or to resign.
The movement also called on the Palestinian unity government to support the budgets of health, education, labor and social affairs ministries and to reinforce the Palestinian people's steadfastness.
On the other hand, the statement demanded PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, in his turn, to bear his obligations and to coordinate with the Egyptian authorities for the opening of Rafah crossing and to make all possible efforts to lift the siege on Gaza.
The statement also stressed the need for the formation of a national committee to follow-up the reconstruction process of Gaza as soon as possible away from UN supervision or Israel’s interference.

Over 500,000 Israeli settlers live in settlements across the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem, in direct contravention of international law.
The roots of the Israel-Palestine conflict date back to 1917, when the British government, in the now-famous Balfour Declaration, called for “the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people”.
The Israeli military regime, at the time, occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank during the 1967 Middle East War.
Israel later annexed Jerusalem in 1980, claiming it for capital of the self-proclaimed Zionist state, in a move never recognized by the international community.
