Palestinian fighters in the Gaza Strip have fired a rocket on the southern region of Eshkol to retaliate against the Israeli strikes on the besieged enclave.
Gazan resistance fighters conducted the attack on the southern region of the occupied territories on Friday.
At least 19 Palestinians were killed and 70 others wounded in more than 58 Israeli attacks on the blockaded strip in June, according to the Palestinian officials.
The Israeli military frequently attacks the Gaza Strip, saying the actions are being conducted for defensive purposes. However, disproportionate force is always used, in violation of international law, and civilians are often killed or injured.
In addition to airstrikes and ground attacks, the Tel Aviv regime also denies about 1.7 million people in Gaza their basic rights, including the freedom of movement and the right to decent living, work, health and education.
Gaza has been blockaded since 2007, a situation that has caused a decline in the standard of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment, and unrelenting poverty.

Israel says it will launch a military operation against Syria if Damascus transfers missiles or chemical weapons to the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah.
"I have instructed the military to increase its intelligence preparations and prepare what is needed so that ... (if necessary) ... we will be able to consider carrying out an operation," the Associated Press quoted Israeli Minister of Military Affairs Ehud Barak as saying on Friday.
“We are following…the possible transfer of advanced munitions systems, mainly anti-aircraft missiles or heavy ground-to-ground missiles, but there could also be a possibility of the transfer of chemical means (weapons) from Syria to Lebanon," said Barak.
He went on to say that "the moment (Syrian President Bashar al-Assad) starts to fall we will conduct intelligence monitoring and will liaise with other agencies."
Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council unanimously approved a resolution extending the mandate of its observer mission in Syria for another 30 days.
On Thursday, Russia and China vetoed a Western-backed UN Security Council draft resolution against Syria, which called for new sanctions against the government of President Assad under Chapter Seven of the UN Charter.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011, with demonstrations being held both against and in support of President Bashar al-Assad's government.
The Syrian government says outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorists are the driving factor behind the unrest and deadly violence while the opposition accuses the security forces of being behind the killings.
Damascus also says that the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country and the security forces have been given clear instructions not to harm civilians.

A truck carries the bus damaged by the suicide bomb blast which targeted a group of Israeli tourists at the airport in Bourgas, Bulgaria, on July 19, 2012.
An American military analyst says by using its international assets to launch “false-flag” terror attacks against certain targets and by framing Iran, Israel is bent on making the US attack the Islamic Republic and fomenting World War III, Press TV reports.
“We are watching a plan take shape, one devised in Tel Aviv, making use of ‘assets’ around the world, meant to culminate in orchestrated ‘false-flag’ terror attacks which Israeli influence in the media, vast influence, can use to create an atmosphere enabling an attack on Iran by the United States,” Gordon Duff said in an article published on Press TV website.
He added that Iran has been a target for US and Israeli warmongering for years and as put by British author H. G. Wells in his book, War of the Worlds.
The analyst noted that during all these years Iran has not only been the target of spite and malice of Israel, the US or NATO, but also Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
Referring to recent botched attempt on the life of the US State Secretary Hillary Clinton during her visit to Israel and subsequent attack on a bus in Bulgaria carrying Israeli tourists, the author said such terror attacks were in fact planned by Israel in order to incriminate Iran and incite the world’s public opinion against it.
“Washington insiders believe the Clinton assassination try was partially caused by over-reaction to these tales of Clinton’s imaginary Muslim spy organization and the current ‘meltdown’ in Israeli politics. Violence and assassination inside Israel is now and has always been ‘the norm’.”
Duff added that had Clinton “been killed, Iran would have been immediately blamed, a ‘Hezbollah’ attack, the same claim Israel is making about the attack in Bulgaria earlier in the week.”
The analyst added that the situation in the Persian Gulf denotes that although there is no rationale for Iran to wish for any confrontation, the stage is set by Israel and the US in such a way that such a confrontation would be inevitable.
“As the Persian Gulf awaits a new American carrier battle group based around the massive USS Stennis and the region begins to fill with military buildup…the probability of an ‘incident’ leading to a major war increases exponentially.”
“Israel believes an attack on Iran can provide “cover” for them to help put things “right,” regain control…. We now only have to wait for something else to be sacrificed, a club filled with Americans in Bahrain [or] an American ship hitting a mine,” Duff stated.
The analyst concluded by saying, “When too many things happen during a critical but short period of time, the term ‘coincidence’ is used less and the term ‘orchestrated’, at least by those who are trained to recognize ‘patterns’ is the operable assumption.”

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) testified before the UN committee to investigate Israeli crimes against Human Rights in the occupied Palestinian territories.
PCHR's representatives, Samir Zaqout and Mervat El-Nahal, reviewed the human rights situation and violations against Palestinian civilians in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, pointing out to the victims’ anger towards UN inability and silence in light of the Israeli violations of human rights and international law.
PCHR reviewed statistics of the Israeli crimes and violations of humanitarian law during the reporting period from July 2011 until July 2012, the period between the Committee's two meetings.
The center's representatives addressed the occupation's violations against the Palestinian civilians and their properties and lands, highlighting the excessive use of force by IOF since the Palestinian Intifada (uprising). They shed light on investigations conducted by PCHR in each crime and explained that some crimes showed that IOF deliberately targeted civilians.
They also pointed out to the UN inability to sue Israeli soldiers who are involved in human rights violations, noting the Israeli siege imposed on the people of Gaza for over six years in a row that worsened the humanitarian conditions in Gaza strip.

Dutch demonstrator suffers head injury
A Dutch national sustained a head injury after being hit by a tear gas canister and dozens of others suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation as Israeli troops attacked demonstrators at the separation wall near Bil’in.
About 80 people, both Palestinian and Internationals, took part in the weekly protest in the small village of Bil’in this afternoon. The weekly protest is aimed at halting the construction of the illegal separation wall being erected by Israel inside the occupied West Bank.
Villagers from Bil’in were joined by about 25 internationals who then marched from the village to the wall, chanting slogans denouncing the illegal occupation.
The Israeli army responded by firing salvos of tear gas canisters at the demonstrators. In the past these have caused serious injury and death when they have been fired directly at people. One international activist was struck in the back of the head causing serious injury. Dozens of others suffered from the effects of tear gas inhalation.
The Israeli army fired dozens of tear gas canisters towards the demonstrators despite the fact that many children were present. The volume and dispersion of the canisters meant the protesters were unable to reach safety before suffering from the effects of the gas.

On Friday, July 13, several protesters were injured when the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) fired tear-gas and rubber-coated steel bullets at the weekly peaceful demonstration in the Palestinian village of Kufr Qaddoum. One man was shot in the head by a tear-gas grenade and was taken to hospital. Two other men were badly injured by rubber-coated bullets.
A home adjacent to the demonstration was hit by tear-gas grenades and caught fire. One child, 2 men, and 4 women were injured by the fire and smoke. An ambulance arrived but was delayed for 30 minutes because of the IOF attacks on the village.
The IOF also employed use of the ‘skunk’ truck which pumps out a foul smelling water and released several sound bombs to terrorize the village. Although illegal, most of the tear-gas was fired at body-level rather than in an arch in the air. Often, 10-12 canisters were fired at a time.
The purpose of the weekly demonstration in Kufr Qaddoum focuses on the closure of the main road that connects the village with Nablus. The road, which passes alongside the nearby illegal settlement of Qedumim, was closed to Palestinian access. As a result, the journey to Nablus has increased from 15 minutes to 40 minutes. This has resulted in hardships because many residents travel daily to Nablus for work, studies, or health care.
On Thursday, June 12, the residents of Kufr Qaddoum celebrated the one year anniversary of their Friday demonstrations. During this year, 60 people have been arrested, 65 people have been shot and badly injured by tear-gas canisters, 200 olive trees have been burned, and the town has suffered systemically from nightly raids and harassment by the IOF.

Israeli Airstrike on Gaza Kills Palestinian, Injures 2
A Palestinian man Thursday was killed and two others were injured in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a group of Palestinians in Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, according to medical sources.
Mahmoud al-Hiqy, in his twenties, was killed when an Israeli drone hit one missile at a group of Palestinians in the neighborhood. The injured were transferred to hospital for treatment.
Earlier today, three Palestinians were injured in an Israeli artillery shelling that targeted an area in al-Shujaiya neighborhood of Gaza City, one was reported in a critical condition.
A Palestinian militant was killed and four people were wounded in Israeli air and artillery attacks in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, a Gaza health official said. The Israeli military confirmed a combined air and artillery attack, which Gaza health official Dr. Ashraf al-Kidra said wounded three Palestinians, including one critically.
Al-Kidra said a second airstrike later Thursday morning killed the militant and wounded another. The Israeli military had no immediate comment on that report.
The Palestinians had no information on the identities of the three men wounded in the first attack, so it was not clear whether they were militants or civilians
The military said that strike targeted militants from Gaza's ruling Hamas group who were preparing to launch an antitank missile at Israeli soldiers patrolling the Israel-Gaza border. The second strike targeted an abandoned militant training site, Palestinian officials said.

The B'Tselem human rights organization demanded that the Israeli occupation army to completely cease the unacceptable policy of using dogs to attack Palestinian civilians.
The organization said in a recently released report: "during 2011-2012, B’Tselem documented the use of dogs not only at demonstrations but also in other circumstances", noting that dogs were used during the arrest of Palestinians who tried to enter the Palestinian occupied territories without valid work permits, and also "during a search inside a home in which civilians were present."
"The use of attack dogs is threatening, dangerous, and uncontrollable, and could result in severe and disproportionate harm to unarmed civilians," said B'Tselem, stressing that "the civilians attacked by army dogs in the cases documented were not endangering the soldiers and could have been detained nonviolently."
It is noted that military dogs have been also used at the checkpoints for searching the Palestinian citizens.
Meanwhile, many international human rights bodies have sharply criticized the Zionist occupation authorities’ way of using the trained dogs against Palestinians, as many cases in which military dogs had attacked and injured civilians have been documented.

Three Palestinian citizens were wounded on Thursday morning in an Israeli incursion east of Shujaiah suburb in Gaza city, medical sources said.
Dr. Ashraf Al-Qudra, the health ministry’s spokesman, said that Israeli army tanks fired a number of shells wounding the three citizens, describing their injuries as serious to moderate.
Local sources said that Israeli occupation soldiers mounting a number of armored vehicles had advanced into the same targeted area and bulldozed land amidst indiscriminate firing.
The sources said that an Israeli artillery shell fired at a civilian car in Shujaiah caused the casualties.
Several Wounded by Israeli Fire In Gaza
Palestinian medical sources in the Gaza Strip report that several Palestinians suffered moderate-to-severe injuries when the Israeli army fired artillery shells before invading Ash-Shijaeyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
Dr. Ashraf Al-Qodra, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, stated that the army fired several shells into the area leading to excessive damage and three injuries. All wounded residents were moved to the Ash-Shifa Hospital in Gaza.
Furthermore, several armored Israeli military vehicles and a number of armored bulldozers invaded the area, and uprooted farmlands while the army fired shells and rounds of live ammunition.
One of the shells fired by the army struck a car driving in An-Nazzaz Street, in Ash-Shijaeyya, leading to several injuries.
The latest attack is part of an ongoing Israeli military assaults and escalation against the Palestinians, especially in the Gaza Strip.
