Three Palestinians and one Israeli were killed during clashes that took place, Monday morning, along the Egyptian border with Israel. The army claims that a Palestinian armed group, on the Egyptian side of the border, fired an RPG at the army before engaging in an automatic fire attack.
The fighters, according to initial information, opened automatic fire at Israeli military vehicles driving in the area before firing a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) shell.
According to the Israeli Ynet News, the fighters intended to use roadside bombs to target two army contractor crews responsible for building the wall Israel is building along the border with Egypt; one Israeli was killed and two others were wounded.
The Ynet reported that the attack took place close to the so-called Philadelphia Route, near what Israel called “dune sector”; the Philadelphi Route is a 14 kilometer road along the border between Gaza and Israel. The route was built on the expense of Palestinian lands, and led to the destruction of numerous homes.
Following the attack, the Israeli army ordered all residents in the area to remain home, as initial reports indicate that some of the gunmen might have managed to infiltrate into Israel.
More soldiers were deployed into the area; the Israeli military sealed roads number 12 and 10 along the border with Egypt.
Israeli security sources reported that it is highly unlikely that this attack is connected to the presidential elections in Egypt, adding that Israel had information about attacks planned across the border with Egypt, and that the attacked was likely carried out by a Palestinian armed group based in the Gaza Strip.

Kufr Qaddoum is a village 12 kilometres west of Nablus home to almost 3 thousand people. Since 2003, the road which connects the village to Nablus was blocked to Palestinian access by Israel. The inhabitants are thus obliged to take an indirect and much lengthier route. The annexed road prompted the weekly demonstrations but Kufr Qaddoum is also protesting the ongoing land theft by the adjacent Jewish-only illegal settlement of Qedummim. The Friday demonstrations began in July 2011 and continue to today.

Israeli machine gun fire burns down farmland in Khan Younis
A devastating fire broke out on Thursday afternoon in a large tract of agricultural land east of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip after it came under heavy machine gun fire from Israeli military posts and infiltrating troops.
Safa news agency reported that the fire devastated all crops in many farmlands without any reported injuries among Palestinian farmers.
The Israeli military towers on the borderline also opened fire at Qarara town northeast of Khan Younis causing panic among citizens, but no casualties were reported.
This was not the first time the IOF torched Palestinian farmlands in Gaza. Palestinian citizen Yousuf Shaheen is one of these farmers who have suffered great losses when his wheat field was burnt by Israeli gunfire for 15 times.
"Before they level any land, they open fire intensely without prior warning, and if there were people in the area, they get killed or wounded," Shaheen said.
"This is my source of livelihood for 20 years and I will never forsake it. It is true that the occupation have bulldozed it more than 15 times, killed one of my workers, Anwer Abu Sammour, and wounded another, but it will not be able to force me to leave it," he added.

They said an Israeli boat intercepted Olivia, which was carrying foreign activists to document Israeli violations of international law against Palestinian fishermen, sprayed it with high-pressure water pumps and threatened to arrest the activists and seize the boat if they do not turn back.
The boat returned to port unharmed.
Olivia has come under similar attacks by Israeli navy boats since it started monitoring Israeli violations against Gaza fishermen and attempting to break the Israeli blockade imposed on Gaza since 2006.
