The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) carried out on Thursday a new incursion into Gaza Strip and conducted combing operations in the agricultural lands in the southern border areas.
Eyewitnesses told Quds Press that four Israeli bulldozers accompanied with a military tank and an IOF armored vehicle moved some 100 meters across the border fence and carried out combing operations in the eastern border agricultural lands.
The incursion is the latest in a series of Israeli violations of the Cairo-brokered ceasefire accord signed in the wake of the 2014 offensive on the besieged coastal enclave.
Meanwhile, Israel Hayom newspaper said that Israeli forces' Home Front Command started Thursday a large-scale drill in Kibbutz Erez near the Gaza border.
The drill, held in cooperation with the nonprofit organization Magen Yehuda, was described as the most extensive drill of its kind in the area, with the goal of preparing for any infiltration from the Gaza Strip, the newspaper added.
Local patrol units were expected to participate alongside special forces from "the Israel Defense Forces, Israel Police, Magen David Adom, the Fire and Rescue Authority" and other civilian agencies, according to the Israeli paper.
The drill will include detonating explosives, smoke and simulated gunfire, as well as mock casualties to create a hostile atmosphere.

Dozens of citizens, whose homes were destroyed during the last aggression on Gaza, staged a sit-in at the Unknown Soldier Square in central Gaza City, expressing their refusal to the delayed reconstruction grants.
Young and old, men and women, even children, participated in the vigil under the rain showers, on Tuesday morning, expressing their discontent and anger over the delay of the reconstruction grants, and ask: "Where are the donors' funds?"
Their suffering
The elderly Itedal Hadidi (Um Samir) who lives to the east of Bureij refugee camp asserts that she, her children, and grandchildren, 24 persons, live in one house composed of only three rooms, adding: "we suffer the winter cold and the fear, death is easier than our suffering. We live in poverty and humiliation."
Message to the Conference of Ramallah
Hasan Al-Wali, general coordinator of IDPs Association, confirmed that they have organized this vigil to display their suffering before the conferees at the Gaza reconstruction conference, which is to be held on Wednesday in Ramallah.
Wali told the PIC reporter: "Our message is the message of suffering, the truth and the reality of reconstruction, which has not reached the level of destruction witnessed in the Gaza Strip." Wali noted that the number of houses totally destroyed was 11,500, while 6,000 houses are uninhabitable, explaining that only 1,000 houses were reconstructed in the Qatari grant. He Indicated that all grants are still just promises, "Even the Kuwaiti grant that was supposed to be received eight months ago has not been sent yet", he said.
Expelled from the House
With a sigh the citizen Mufid Ubaid spoke about his devastated humble home, which has not been built since the end of the last aggression on the Gaza Strip, in the summer of 2014. He confirmed that his house is registered in the Kuwaiti grant, but he did not get anything until the moment. He told the reporter of the PIC: "until this moment I did not get even a housing rent to pay since the end of last year, so the homeowner who rented me expelled me from his house because I do not have money to pay the rent, now I live in a tent on the ruins of my home."
He said that his family of six children is exposed in the tent to extreme cold in winter and extreme heat in the summer. He hoped that their demands would be heard and their housing crisis would be solved the soonest.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on early Tuesday morning launched a limited incursion into central Gaza Strip and leveled Palestinians’ cultivated lands.
Several Israeli bulldozers and army jeeps deployed at the Kissufim military site moved 100 meters into eastern Deir al-Balah city, in central Gaza Strip.
The bulldozers moved southwards and leveled Palestinians’ cultivated lands all the way through.
Two military tanks were stationed near the border fence to protect the invading patrols.
The incursion is another chain in the series of Israeli violations of the Cairo-brokered ceasefire accord signed in the wake of the 2014 offensive on the besieged coastal enclave.

More than 75,000 Palestinian families have been displaced in the blockaded Gaza Strip as a result of the 2014 Israeli offensive and continue to live in fraught conditions, the United Nations relief coordination wing for the Occupied Palestinian Territory reported Monday.
In a press release, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said it conducted an “unprecedented profiling exercise” of Palestinian families internally displaced in the Gaza Strip.
"After hearing from over 16,000 displaced families in the Gaza Strip, it is clear that most continue to live in desperate conditions,” said Robert Piper, the UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Aid and Development Activities for the occupied Palestinian territory.
“International support to end this situation is urgently needed,” he said.
According to the survey, more than 80 per cent of families borrowed money to get by in the past year, more than 85 per cent purchased most of their food on credit, and more than 40 per cent have decreased their consumption of food.
In addition, some 62.5 per cent of internally displaced households reported that they are renting living space, including from extended family members, and nearly 50 per cent fear being evicted from their accommodations.
The situation of women and girls is of particular concern, OCHA said. Many families report living in shelter conditions that are lacking in safety, dignity and privacy, including living in tents, makeshift shelters, destroyed houses, or the open air.
“Funding is needed more than ever. We face a funding gap to reconstruct some 6,600 houses, or about 37 per cent of the overall caseload. Without this support, thousands of Palestinians will see no end to their displacement,” said Mr. Piper.
“But this support must go hand in hand with significant changes at the policy level, including a lifting of the blockade and progress towards Palestinian reconciliation. Without such action, coping capacities of exhausted and vulnerable households risk being depleted altogether,” he concluded.

Israeli forces on Monday shot and injured a Palestinian boy in the central Gaza Strip.
Witnesses told Ma'an that Israeli forces deployed near Hujr al-Dik area in central Gaza Strip opened fire at a young teenager herding cattle, injuring him in the foot.
Medical sources identified him as Amir al-Tarabin,13, and said he was in moderate condition.
An Israeli army spokesperson didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
Israeli forces frequently open fire on Palestinians inside of or near a military-imposed “buffer zone” on both land and seaside borders of the besieged enclave.
The exact limits of the zone are unclear but enforced with live fire, putting the lives of Palestinian farmers and fishermen who work near the border at risk.
The Israeli army says the use of live fire is necessary to deter potential "security threats." However, the practice has destroyed much of both the agricultural and fishing sectors of the impoverished coastal enclave, which has been under Israeli blockade nearly nine years.

Several Israeli army jeeps on Sunday morning launched a limited incursion into eastern Gaza and Rafah cities, in the blockaded Gaza Strip.
A PIC news correspondent said an Israeli army patrol escorted by six bulldozers moved some 50 meters into Palestinian lands in eastern al-Shujaiya neighborhood and raked through Palestinians’ cultivated lands.
Other Israeli army bulldozers also rolled into eastern al-Nahdha neighborhood, in Rafah city, to the south of the blockaded Gaza Strip. Sounds of intermittent gunshots were detected all the way through the incursion.
Meanwhile, reports were released on the abduction of Palestinian youth by the Israeli occupation soldiers near Gaza’s border fence. Israeli news outlets claimed the abduction was carried out after the youth crept into the border fence separating Gaza from 1948 Occupied Palestine.

Israeli gunboats on Saturday evening opened machinegun fire at Palestinian fishermen and their boats off the coast of Beit Lahiya district, north of the besieged Gaza Strip.
The coastal police in Gaza said that the fishermen were attacked as they were working within the permitted six-nautical-mile fishing zone.
They added that the shooting was so intensive and forced the fishing boats to return ashore, pointing out that no one was hurt in the attack.
Gunfire attacks on fishermen, farmers and civilians in Gaza have become part of routine violations since Israel accepted an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire agreement in 2014.

At least seven Palestinians were injured while dozens suffered effects of teargas inhalation after clashes erupted in the West Bank and Gaza when Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) suppressed weekly marches.
Dozens of Palestinians and foreign activists suffered effects of tear gas inhalation, while at least one was shot by rubber-coated steel bullet when Israeli forces brutally attacked the weekly peaceful march of Bil’in with teargas bombs and rubber bullets.
The local activist Rateb Abu Rahma said that head of the village council Bassil Mansour was hit with a rubber-coated steel bullet during the march. Large agricultural lands and dozens of olive and almond trees were burned due to the excessive use of teargas bombs, he added.
Similar clashes broke out as IOF soldiers violently suppressed Ni’lin peaceful march west of Ramallah shortly after Friday prayers. The participants waved Palestinian flags and chanted slogans calling for restoring their confiscated lands.
During the clashes, one young man was moderately injured after being shot with a rubber bullet in his abdomen while dozens others choked on tear gas.
Along the same line, three Palestinians were shot with rubber bullets while nearly 20 others choked on teargas during Kafer Qaddum anti-settlement march. Israeli forces fired a barrage of metal bullets and tear gas towards the participants, causing dozens of injuries among them.
Similar confrontations broke out in Azba village when Israeli forces violently attacked an anti-occupation march with teargas bombs and rubber bullets. Two young men were injured during the clashes while dozens choked on teargas.

The Palestinian ministry of public works has said that the efforts being made to remove the rubble of buildings destroyed by the last Israeli war on Gaza have neared completion.
In a report released on Thursday, the ministry explained that 2.5 million tons of post-war rubble had been removed in Gaza.
"98 percent of rubble from homes, buildings and facilities has been cleared in collaboration with the UNDP, and the rest will be completed in the next few days," the ministry stated.
It noted that the removed rubble was reused to pave roads and make tiles.
During the 2014 war, 12,000 housing units sustained complete destruction, and 160,000 others were either partially damaged or became uninhabitable.
