Israeli forces shot and injured four Palestinians with live fire when clashes erupted near the border in the Gaza Strip on Friday, the Ministry of Health said.
Spokesman for Gaza’s Ministry of Health Ashraf al-Qidra told Ma’an two young men were shot east of Beit Hanoun near the border with Israel in the north of the coastal enclave.
Two others were shot near the borderline east of Gaza City, al-Qidra said, adding that two men suffered from severe tear gas inhalation east of al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an they were looking into the reports.
Palestinians in the Gaza Strip crowd near the borders with Israel every Friday to show solidarity with what Palestinians in besieged coastal enclave have termed the “Jerusalem Intifada” taking place in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
Nearly 30 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip since the unrest spread in October, the majority shot dead during clashes on the Gaza-Israel border.
Over 1,300 Palestinians have been injured by Israeli forces since the start of this year, the majority during clashes that broke out with the Israeli military during protests in the occupied West Bank, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
UN rights monitor to the occupied Palestinian territory Makarim Wibisono earlier this week condemned excessive use of force used by Israeli military forces in the context of protests and urged the Israeli authorities to comply with international law regarding the use of force and firearms.

Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinian farmers and shepherds in the Gaza Strip Saturday morning, forcing them to leave their fields, witnesses said.
Witnesses told Ma’an that Israeli military forces deployed east of Juhr al-Dik in the central Gaza Strip opened fire on the workers while they were in their agricultural fields, forcing them to leave the area.
An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an they were looking into the reports.
Palestinian farmers face frequent fire from Israeli forces inside of or near the military-imposed “buffer zone.” While the exact limits of the zone are often unclear, they are enforced with live fire.
The Israeli army often says in such circumstances that the use of live fire is necessary to deter potential "security threats,” a policy that has in effect destroyed much of the agricultural and fishing sectors of the impoverished Palestinian territory, which has been under a crippling Israeli blockade since 2007.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs last month reported at least 42 cases of Israeli forces opening fire on Palestinians in the buffer zone, on both land and sea sides.

Israel has redeployed the Iron Dome missile interception system in settlements close to the border with the Gaza Strip. Israeli sources said the measure comes in the aftermath of the death of two Palestinians, in Hebron, especially the one who was executed after he was already shot and severely injured.
Israeli TV Channel 2 said that following videotaped execution of the wounded Palestinian, the army deployed Iron Dome systems in Ashdod and Nativot. The extra-judicially executed Palestinian has been identified as Abdul-Fattah Yosri Sharif; another Palestinian, Ramzi Aziz Qasrawi, was shot and instantly killed.
The “Jewish Press” agency said the Iron Dome system has been redeployed in many areas, south of the country, especially near Sderot and Nativot, close to the border with the Gaza Strip.
It claimed that the motive for the redeployment "remains unclear," especially since Tel Aviv did not reveal whether it was related to a "credible threat," or merely a "routine move."
The execution of the Palestinian in Hebron would have gone unnoticed, similar to many previous incidents, but the fact that it was captured on film, and went spiral on the Internet, pushed Israel to, and its Prime Minister, to denounce it.
There have been a few instances where similar executions were caught on tape, including the case of Hadeel Wajeeh ‘Awwad, 16, who was executed in occupied Jerusalem, after she was shot and seriously injured, following what appears to be an attempted stabbing attack.
Another case was the fatal shooting of Mahdi Mohammad Ramadan al-Mohtasib, 23 years of age, who was shot near the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron.
Another case is the killing of Mohammad Abu Khalaf, 20, who was first shot by the soldiers in Jerusalem, and fell onto the ground bleeding and incapacitated, when six of the militarized police officers fired more than 50 rounds at him, killing him instantly.

Israeli forces opened fire on a group of Palestinian farmers and shepherds in eastern Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip on Saturday, according to eyewitnesses.
Witnesses told Ma'an that Israeli forces deployed at the border fence opened fire on Palestinians who were in nearby agricultural lands, with no injuries reported.
An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an they had no information regarding shots being fired in Khan Yunis.
Israeli military forces have opened fire on Palestinian farmers near the border at least six times since the beginning of 2016, injuring one in January.
Forces also entered the besieged enclave with bulldozers and leveled agricultural lands on Tuesday near the village of Khuzza in the southeastern Gaza Strip.
Palestinian farmers and fishermen face frequent fire from Israeli forces inside of or near the military-imposed “buffer zone.” While the exact limits of the zone are often unclear, they are enforced with live fire on both land and seaside borders of Gaza.

Israeli authorities, on Wednesday, cancelled a weekly visit which allows elderly Palestinians, from the Gaza Strip, to travel to annexed East Jerusalem for Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque, according to Palestinian liaison officials.
Sources at the liaison office said that Israel had called off the agreement, which previously allowed 200 Gazans above the age of 60 to worship at the holy site as part of a ceasefire agreement that ended the 2014 Gaza war.
Sources said that Israel cancelled the agreement on the grounds that Palestinian worshipers traveling for worship were not returning to the Gaza Strip on the same day of the visit, as the agreement stipulated. A spokesperson for Israel's Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) confirmed the cancellation and said that: "Any claims regarding the freezing of permits for prayers in the Temple Mount [Al-Aqsa] should be directed to those who choose to exploit illegally the permits at the expense of the rest of the public."
"In light of inappropriate misusing of the permit and exploiting inappropriately the Israeli civil policy, it has been decided to freeze the permits for prayers in the Temple Mount [Al-Aqsa]," the spokesperson said, adding that over 1,000 Palestinians in Gaza are permitted to cross into Israel, each day, for a variety of purposes, including business affairs or medical treatment.
The spokesperson said that giving permits for entry to the Al-Aqsa compound is a "civil step" among others taken by the body, but added that any "attempts to harm the security of Israel" would not be tolerated.
The spokesperson told Ma'an that the decision was temporary until the issue was addressed by the Palestinian Civil Committee in the Gaza Strip.
The announcement comes after Israeli authorities, last week, reportedly said they were considering increasing the number of Palestinians able to travel from Gaza to Al-Aqsa, as well as lowering the age limit to 50.
Al-Aqsa Mosque is the third holiest site in Islam and is also venerated as Judaism's most holy place. Disputes surrounding visitation to the site have historically flared tensions in the occupied Palestinian territory.
Increased Israeli presence at the site, last year, contributed to an escalation of tensions that triggered a wave of unrest across Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories in October.
