Israeli warplanes on Wednesday bombed a Palestinian resistance site east of Rafah city in the southern area of the Gaza Strip.
The PIC reporter said that the warplanes fired two missiles at a resistance site east of Rafah with no injuries reported.
The Israeli occupation army has recently carried out dozens of attacks on Palestinian sites near the border fence separating the Gaza Strip from the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories in response to fire balloons launched from the enclave toward neighboring Israeli settlements.
The Israeli airstrike came in conjunction with meetings held in Gaza between Palestinian factions and an Egyptian Intelligence delegation to discuss the ceasefire agreement with Israel and the humanitarian situation in besieged Gaza.

A Palestinian teenager has died after succumbing to wounds he sustained during at an anti-occupation protest near the border between the besieged Gaza Strip and Israeli-occupied territories.
Spokesman for the Gaza Ministry of Health, Ashraf al-Qidra, said in a n a statement that 17-year-old Montaser Mohammed Ismail al-Baz succumbed to his Israeli-inflicted gunshot wounds at al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City on Tuesday evening.
He had been shot and injured in the head during a “The Great March of Return” demonstration east of Deir al-Balah city, located over 14 kilometers (8.7 miles) south of Gaza City.
Palestinian sources said Israeli snipers were targeting the Palestinian protesters, shooting five of them in the foot and abdomen.
The sources added that a series of explosions were also heard in the area.
The development came only a day after Israeli forces attacked hundreds of peaceful Palestinian protesters, who were taking part in a march in the Gaza Strip northern town of Beit Lahiya to protest the 12-year-long Israeli-imposed blockade on the coastal enclave. Dozens of people were struck with live bullets.
Nearly 210 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces ever since anti-occupation protest rallies began in the Gaza Strip on March 30. Over 22,000 Palestinians have also sustained injuries.
The Gaza clashes reached their peak on May 14, on the eve of the 70th anniversary of Nakba Day (Day of Catastrophe), which coincided this year with the US embassy relocation from Tel Aviv to occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds.
On June 13, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution, sponsored by Turkey and Algeria, condemning Israel for Palestinian civilian deaths in the Gaza Strip.
The resolution, which had been put forward on behalf of Arab and Muslim countries, garnered a strong majority of 120 votes in the 193-member assembly, with 8 votes against and 45 abstentions.
The resolution called on UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to make proposals within 60 days “on ways and means for ensuring the safety, protection, and well-being of the Palestinian civilian population under Israeli occupation,” including “recommendations regarding an international protection mechanism.”
It also called for “immediate steps towards ending the closure and the restrictions imposed by Israel on movement and access into and out of the Gaza Strip.”

According to the Israeli Kaan News Agency, it appears that Qatar will be financing an agreement between Israel and Hamas, in order to end the Great Return March processions.
It said that Qatar would be transferring money to the Gaza Strip to pay salaries, and provide aid, in exchange for halting all protests in the coastal region and maintaining complete calm.
Hamas will be required to stop all protests near the perimeter fence, while Israel will also allow the flow of fuel transfer into Gaza, and help in providing electricity.
The Israeli agency stated that Israeli leaders believe that the Palestinian Authority, headed by President Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank, will be angered by this move, and will likely completely halt the transfer of government employees’ salaries.
However, Israel controls all border terminals in the West Bank, and thus also controls all exports and imports, even collects money from Palestinian travelers crossing into Jordan, or heading back to the West Bank, and will be suspending the transfer of the tax and customs’ money it collects o behalf of the PA, to exert further pressure on it.
A senior Israeli official said that the developments are considered a “strategic achievement for Hamas, for the first time, especially since international parties, including the United Nations, will directly be working with Hamas, and bypassing the Palestinian Authority in the occupied West Bank.
Two weeks ago, Qatar delivered a message to Mahmoud Abbas, telling him that if he cuts aid to Gaza, it will be filling in the gaps, and will be bypassing him, and told Hamas that it should not worry about the aid cut because “Qatar will transfer the needed money.”
The Palestinian Authority in the West Bank said that Hamas is acting on fully separating the Gaza Strip from the rest of occupied Palestine, and is trying to create a separate entity, in conflict with the Palestinian national aspirations, and struggle for full independence, sovereignty and geographical contiguity.

Israel’s war Minister Avigdor Lieberman (Yisrael Beytenu) threatened to wage a bloody war against Gaza at the start of a meeting of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
“Wars are only conducted when there is no choice, and now there is no choice,” the minister claimed on Monday. “Anything less than the toughest response won’t help anymore. We have exhausted the other options.”
Lieberman alleged that Hamas was behind recent violence from the blockaded Gaza Strip and pays large sums to protesters.
“There is no popular uprising,” Lieberman said. “There is violence organized by Hamas. Fifteen thousand people don’t come by foot to the border at their own will. They come by bus and are paid.”
“I don’t believe in reaching an arrangement with Hamas,” he said. “It hasn’t worked, doesn’t work and won’t work in the future.”
Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chairman Avi Dichter (Likud) also accused Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas of inflaming tensions in the Gaza Strip by preventing supplies and funding from reaching the people there.
“It is intolerable, unacceptable and unreasonable that Abbas closes the faucet for Gaza and Israel has to pay the price,” Dichter said.

On Friday, 19 October 2018, in excessive use of force against peaceful protesters on the 30th Friday of the March of Return and Breaking the Siege, Israeli forces wounded 275 Palestinian civilians, including 49 children, 3 women, 3 journalists and 4 paramedics, with live bullets and directly hit teargas canisters in eastern Gaza Strip. Ten of those wounded sustained serious wounds.
According to the fieldworkers of Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) during the reporting period, in light of wide-scale incitement by the Israeli highest military and political echelons against the protests and giving them a lead time until today to end them, the Israeli forces intensified the use of excessive force against the peaceful demonstrators though the organizers of the protests and Palestinian factions called for “maintaining the peaceful and popular nature of the protests and their tools” in addition to demanding “to take all measures to prevent and fail any opportunity for the Israeli snipers to take down the protestors.”
PCHR’s investigations and fieldworkers’ observations emphasize that the Israeli forces heavily opened fire at the protestors, inflicting many casualties. Though no killings were reported, there were 10 persons seriously wounded. Moreover, though limited attempts to approach the border fence were reported in the demonstration areas, there was no imminent threat posed to the life of the Israeli soldiers and the protests were totally peaceful. PCHR’s fieldworkers did not witness any armed manifestations while the Israeli soldiers continued to position on the top of sand berms and hills, in military jeeps and tanks along the border fence.
This proves that Israeli forces continue to use excessive force against the protestors upon highest Israeli military and political echelons despite no danger or threat posed to the life of Israeli soldiers.
It should be mentioned that before the protests started today, the Israeli forces deployed large forces and tanks along the security border fence with the Gaza Strip and adjacent to residential areas in the vicinity of the Gaza Strip.
incidents today, 19 October 2018, were as follows:
At approximately 15:00, thousands of civilians, including women, children and entire families, started swarming to the 5 encampments established by the Supreme National Authority for the Great March of Return and Breaking Siege along the border fence, east of the Gaza Strip governorates. They raised flags and chanted national songs. Hundreds, including children and women, approached the border fence with Israel, set fire to tires and gathered 300 meters away from the main border fence.
Some of them attempted to throw stones at the Israeli forces, limitedly threw Molotov Cocktails and pulled parts of the second barbed-wire few meters away from the fence established inside the Palestinian territories few meters away from the border fence and in limited cases, they threw Molotov Cocktails along the border fence. However, there was no threat posed on the lives of Israeli soldiers stationed behind barracks and sand berms, 70 meters away the border fence.
The Israeli shooting, which continued until 18:30, resulted in the injury of 275 civilians, including 49 children, 3 women, 3 journalists and 4 paramedics, were hit with live bullets and direct tear gas canisters. Ten of those wounded sustained serious wounds in addition dozens suffering tear gas inhalation and seizures after tear gas canisters were heavily fired by the Israeli soldiers from the military jeeps and riffles in the eastern Gaza Strip.
Moreover, at approximately 17:25, an Israeli drone launched 2 missiles at civilians in an olive field that is around 800 meters away to the west of the Return encampment in Khuza’ah in eastern Khan Younis. As a result, 4 civilians were wounded.

PCHR hereby condemns the crimes committed by the Israeli forces, believing it is as a result of Israel’s enjoying impunity thanks to the U.S. and so encouraging the Israeli forces to commit further crimes upon an official decision by the highest military and political echelons.
PCHR emphasizes that continuously targeting civilians, who exercise their right to peaceful assembly or while carrying out their humanitarian duty, is a serious violation of the rules of international law, international humanitarian law, the ICC Rome Statute and Fourth Geneva Convention. Thus, PCHR calls upon the ICC Prosecutor to open an official investigation in these crimes and to prosecute and hold accountable all those applying or involved in issuing orders within the Israeli Forces at the security and political echelons.
PCHR also reiterates its call upon the High Contracting Parties to the 1949 Fourth Geneva Convention to fulfill their obligations under Article 1; i.e., to respect and ensure respect for the Convention in all circumstances and their obligations under Article 146 to prosecute persons alleged to commit grave breaches of the Fourth Geneva Convention.
PCHR calls upon Switzerland, in its capacity as the Depository State for the Convention, to demand the High Contracting Parties to convene a meeting and ensure Israel’s respect for this Convention, noting that these grave breaches constitute war crimes under Article 147 of the same Convention and Protocol (I) Additional to the Geneva Conventions regarding the guarantee of Palestinian civilians’ right to protection in the occupied territories.
