Israeli navy injuries Gaza fisherman
Picture
Israeli navy Friday morning attacked a fisherman offshore Gaza city, according to WAFA correspondent.

He said that Israeli naval boats opened gunfire towards a fishing boat sailing within three nautical miles offshore al-Waha area, northwest of Gaza city, injuring the fisherman.

The casualty was rushed to al-Shifaa Hospital for treatment, where medics described his injury as moderate.

Fourteen years following the Israeli “disengagement” from Gaza, Israel has not actually disengaged from Gaza; it still maintains control of its land borders, access to the sea and airspace.

Two million Palestinians live the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a punishing and crippling Israeli blockade for 12 years and repeated onslaughts that have heavily damaged much of the enclave’s infrastructure.

Gaza’s 2-million population remains under “remote control” occupation and a strict siege, which has destroyed the local economy, strangled Palestinian livelihoods, plunged them into unprecedented rates of unemployment and poverty, and cut off from the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories and the wider world.

Gaza remains occupied territory, having no control over its borders, territorial waters or airspace. Meanwhile, Israel upholds very few of its responsibilities as the occupying power, failing to provide for the basic needs of Palestinian civilians living in the territory.

Every two in three Palestinians in Gaza is a refugee from lands inside what is now Israel. That government forbids them from exercising their right to return as enshrined in international law because they are not Jews.

Israeli Soldiers, Navy, Attack Farmers And Fishermen In Gaza
Picture
Israeli soldiers and navy ships attacked, on Thursday morning, Palestinian farmers and fishermen with live fire and shells, in the southern and northern parts of the besieged and impoverished Gaza Strip.

Media sources said the soldiers, stationed in military towers across the perimeter fence, fired many live rounds at Palestinian farmers on their own lands near the perimeter fence, east of Khuza’a town, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the coastal region.

The farmers had to flee their lands and seek shelter away from the area to avoid further Israeli violations.

A similar attack targeted farmers on their lands, east of Shouka town, near Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, and in Beit Hanoun, in northern Gaza Strip, forcing the farmers out of their lands.

In related news, Israeli navy ships attacked Palestinian fishing boats with sporadic rounds of live fire, and a few shells, while in Gaza territorial waters, in the northern part of the coastal region.

The attacks did not lead to casualties but forced the fishermen back to the shore without being able to fish to provide for their families.

Last week, Israeli soldiers shot and injured three fishermen and abducted two others, in addition to causing extensive damage to fishing boats and equipment.

Israeli navy attack fishermen anew in Gaza waters

The Israeli occupation navy on Wednesday morning launched a renewed shooting attack on Palestinian fishermen and their boats off the northern coast of Gaza.

Local sources said that Israeli gunboats opened machinegun fire several fishing boats during their presence within five nautical miles off the northern shore of Gaza City.

Luckily, no one was injured in the shooting attack.

Recently, the Israeli navy intensified its attacks on Gazan fishermen and their boats.

Israeli naval forces and their gunboats are around Gaza fishermen almost every day, harassing them, shooting at them, damaging their boats, and making arrests. Sometimes fishermen are injured or killed during gunfire attacks.

Under the 1993 Oslo accords, Palestinian fishermen are permitted to fish up to 20 nautical miles off the coast of Gaza, but since then Israel has kept reducing the fishing area gradually to a limit between six to three nautical miles as part of its blockade on Gaza.

Fishermen and human rights groups also say that since the 2008-09 war in Gaza, the Israeli army has been regularly enforcing a limit even closer to the shore.

Israeli navy ships attacked, on Tuesday morning, Palestinian fishing boats in the northwestern part of the besieged Gaza Strip, wounding one fisherman.

The Committee for Documenting Israeli Violations against the Fishermen in Gaza has reported that the navy ships fired live rounds and rubber-coated steel bullets at the fishing boats in Palestinian territorial waters close to the shore.

It added that one fisherman, identified as Nidal al-Hassi, 21, was shot with a rubber-coated steel bullet in his arm.

The wounded young man fell into the water after being shot, before his fellow fisherman managed to rescue him from drowning. His wounds were described as mild.

Israeli army breaches Gaza border, navy attacks fishermen at sea

Israeli soldiers today breached the Gaza borders in the central Gaza Strip as navy boats attacked fishermen sailing in the northern Gaza shores, reported WAFA correspondent.

He said army vehicles and tanks breached the border east of Bureij refugee camp and razed land while blocking the area with dirt mounds.

Israeli navy also opened live fire and water hoses on fishermen’s boats sailing with the allowed three nautical miles in the northern Gaza shore causing damage to one boat but no injuries.

IOF infiltrates border area, attacks fishermen in Gaza
Picture
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Monday morning carried out a small-scale incursion into a border area in the south of the besieged Gaza Strip and attacked fishermen in Gaza waters.

Eyewitnesses said that two military bulldozers advanced a few meters into a border area in the east of Khuza’ah town in Khan Yunis, south of Gaza, and carried out bulldozing activities.

During the incursion, the IOF opened fire sporadically towards cultivated plots of land to prevent farmers from approaching.

Meanwhile, Israeli gunboats carried out a renewed shooting attack on Palestinian fishermen and their boats off the coast of Gaza. Luckily, no one was hurt in the attack.

On Sunday morning, the Israeli navy opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats off the northern coast of Gaza.

The navy also confiscated one fishing boat and caused damage to nets of other boats during yesterday’s attack.

The Israeli occupation navy on Sunday morning opened fire at Palestinian fishermen and their boats off the northern coast of the besieged Gaza Strip.

A local committee documenting Israeli violations against Gaza fishermen said that Israeli gunboats opened machinegun fire at fishing boats off the shore of Gaza City.

The committee added that the Israeli naval forces confiscated one fishing boat and caused damage to nets of other boats during the attack.

Last year, the Israeli naval forces kidnaped 35 fishermen — nine of them still in detention —wounded 22 others, confiscated 15 fishing boats, caused total or partial damage to 54 boats, and carried out 24 attacks on coastal areas where fishing boats normally gather.

Israeli occupation navy on Friday morning opened fire at Palestinian fishermen sailing in Gaza waters, injuring three of them.

Palestinian Fishermen Committee in Gaza said that Israeli gunboats heavily opened machinegun fire at a group of Palestinian fishermen off northern Gaza’s shore and wounded three of them.

Spokesman for the committee Zakariya Baker said that two fishing boats were damaged in the attack.

Baker said that Israeli gunboats arbitrarily attacked the fishermen with live ammunition, rubber-coated metal bullets and sewage water.

Israeli naval forces attack Gaza fishermen on almost a daily basis, sometimes arresting them, shooting at them, or damaging their boats.

Gaza fishermen come under fire from Israeli navy
Picture
Israeli navy boats opened fire at Palestinian fishermen sailing in the northern Gaza shore forcing them to return to the port, said WAFA correspondent.

He said the navy opened live fire and water hoses at the fishermen who were sailing three nautical miles off shore causing damage to at least one boat.

While fishing is vital for thousands of Palestinian households, Israel restricts their work to a small area and often pursues them even inside this area and push them back to shore.

Israeli Soldiers Fire Missile Into The Gaza Strip
Picture
Israeli soldiers fired, on Wednesday at dawn, several missiles targeting two areas south of Gaza city, and Beit Hannoun in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, causing damage.

Media sources said the soldiers, stationed in military bases across the perimeter fence, fired several artillery shells into a building east of Juhr ed-Deek, south of Gaza city, causing damage.

They added that the soldiers also fired several shells into another building east of Hanoun, causing property damage.

The Israeli army claimed that it was retaliating to one shell, which was reportedly fired from Gaza into an open area in the Eshkol Regional Council of settlements, without leading to any damage.
