Israeli navy ships attacked, Tuesday, several Palestinian fishing boats with live rounds only three nautical miles from the shore in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Media sources said the navy ships fired many live rounds at the boats, in Palestinian waters in the northern part of the coastal region.
The attack did not lead to any casualties but forced the fishermen back to the shore without being able to fish to provide for their families.
It is worth mentioning that, four days ago, Israel unilaterally decreased the fishing zone from ten nautical miles to only five.
In related news, Israeli soldiers abducted a young Palestinian man reportedly after he crossed the perimeter fence in the southern part of the coastal region.

Furthermore, the Israeli Navy said it has decided to reduce the fishing zone allotted to Gaza Strip, for the second time since Wednesday, when it reduced it from 15 to 10 nautical miles, in addition to denying the entry of construction materials into the coastal region.

The Israeli occupation navy on Thursday morning attacked Palestinian fishermen and their boats off the coast of the besieged Gaza Strip.
According to local sources, Israeli gunboats opened machinegun fire at fishing boats in Gaza northern waters, forcing them to return ashore.
Luckily, no one was hurt in the shooting attack.
About 351 violations against Gaza fishermen were reported by different human rights groups during 2019.
Israeli naval forces and their gunboats are around Gaza fishermen almost every day, harassing them, shooting at them, damaging their boats, and making arrests. Sometimes fishermen are injured or killed during gunfire attacks.
Under the 1993 Oslo accords, Palestinian fishermen are permitted to fish up to 20 nautical miles off the coast of Gaza, but since then Israel has kept reducing the fishing area gradually to a limit between six to three nautical miles as part of its blockade on Gaza.
Fishermen and human rights groups also say that since the 2008-09 war in Gaza, the Israeli army has been regularly enforcing a limit even closer to the shore.

Israeli navy today opened gunfire and water hoses towards Palestinian fishermen who were sailing into the Gaza coast to the west of the Gaza city damaging boats, reported WAFA correspondent.
He said that the fishermen were sailing only three nautical miles into the sea when Israeli navy boats opened gunfire and water hoses at them damaging at least on fishing boat.
As a result, the fishermen had to leave the water and abruptly end their fishing mission, which is their only source of income.
According to B’Tselem, the Israeli military “routinely” abuses fishermen “on various grounds,” explaining: “One reason alleged is boats sailing beyond the permitted area, even when fishermen use GPS devices and ensure they remain within the permitted boundaries.”
Fishermen in Gaza suffer from Israel’s gradual destruction of the fishing sector in Gaza.
Before it imposed the blockade on Gaza, Israel used to permit fishing up to 12 nautical miles from shore. Since imposing the blockade, Israel has changed the area of the permitted fishing zone several times a year, said B’Tselem, the Israeli information center for human rights in occupied territories.

Israeli occupation forces on Monday pumped large amounts of rainwater into agricultural lands east of besieged Gaza.
Union of Agricultural Work Committees said in a statement that Israeli occupation forces opened rainwater dams along the border with the besieged Gaza Strip, causing farmlands east of Gaza City to sink.
This is the fifth time this season Israeli forces have caused damage to large amounts of crops in the already-starved Gaza.
This repeated move has caused Palestinian farmers in Gaza losses estimated at half a million dollars, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.

Israeli warplanes early Monday pounded sites in Khan Younis and Deir al-Balah cities in the southern besieged Gaza Strip, according to WAFA correspondent.
He said that Israeli warplanes fired some ten missiles towards a site to the northwest of Khan Younis, completely destroying it and causing fires to break out.
Warplanes also targeted a site to the west of Deir al Balah with three missiles, completely destroying it and causing damages to nearby civilian properties. video
Meanwhile, Israeli artillery fired three shells towards a site to the east of the Gaza Strip, destroying it totally and causing damages to close properties and agricultural lands.
No human casualties were reported, however.
Israel claimed that the attack on the war-battered strip came in retaliation to a rocket fire from the coastal enclave.
Fourteen years following the Israeli “disengagement” from Gaza, Israel has not actually disengaged from Gaza; it still maintains control of its land borders, access to the sea and airspace.
Two million Palestinians live the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a punishing and crippling Israeli blockade for 12 years and repeated onslaughts that have heavily damaged much of the enclave’s infrastructure.
Gaza’s 2-million population remains under “remote control” occupation and a strict siege, which has destroyed the local economy, strangled Palestinian livelihoods, plunged them into unprecedented rates of unemployment and poverty, and cut off from the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories and the wider world.
Gaza remains occupied territory, having no control over its borders, territorial waters or airspace.
Meanwhile, Israel upholds very few of its responsibilities as the occupying power, failing to provide for the basic needs of Palestinian civilians living in the territory.
Every two in three Palestinians in Gaza is a refugee from lands inside what is now Israel. That government forbids them from exercising their right to return as enshrined in international law because they are not Jews.
