A Palestinian farmer on Thursday morning suffered a bullet injury as he was working his land in the northern Gaza Strip.
According to media sources, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened machinegun fire at a group of farmers in an agricultural area in Beit Hanoun, north of Gaza, wounding one of them.
The victim was moderately wounded and rushed to the Indonesia Hospital for medical assistance.
Despite the renewed ceasefire understandings over Gaza, the Israeli occupation army keeps targeting — sometimes injuring and killing — civilians, farmers and fishermen almost on a daily basis.

By Gideon Levy for Haaretz
They’re the best of our boys. One is a “musician from a good high school,” another a “boy scout” who majored in theater.” They’re the snipers who have shot thousands of unarmed protesters along the Gaza border fence.
In the Gaza Strip there are 8,000 permanently disabled young men as a result of the snipers’ actions. Some are leg amputees, and the shooters are very proud of that.
None of the snipers interviewed for Hilo Glazer’s frightening story in Haaretz (March 6) has any regrets. If they are feeling at all apologetic it’s because they didn’t spill more blood.
One was mocked in his battalion with “here comes the killer.” They all act like murderers. If their actions don’t show it – more than 200 dead as a result of them – then their statements prove that these young men have lost their moral compass.
They are lost.
They will go on to study, to have careers and to raise families – and will never recover from their blindness. They disabled their victims physically, but their own disabilities are more severe. Their souls were completely twisted.
They will never again be moral individuals. They are a danger to society. They lost their humanity, if they ever had it, on the shooting berms facing the Gaza Strip. They are the sons of our friends and the friends of our sons, the young people from the apartment across the hall. Look how they talk.
The soldiers’ talk we once knew – the collection of testimonies on the Six-Day War published in English as “The Seventh Day” – turned into the talk of butchers. Perhaps that’s for the best – we have spared ourselves some hypocrisy – but it’s hard not to be shocked at the depths to which we have sunk.
They recalled the number of knees they shot. “I brought in seven-eight knees in one day. Within a few hours, I almost broke his record.” “He got around 28 knees.”
They shot at unarmed young men and women who were trying in vain to struggle for their freedom, an issue that couldn’t be more just. “The regular scenario is supposed to be that you hit, break a bone – in the best case, break the kneecap – within a minute an ambulance comes to evacuate him, and after a week he gets a disability pension.”
Not enough for you?
“The objective is to cause the inciter minimal damage, so he will stop doing what he’s doing. So I, at least, would try to aim at a fattier place, in the muscle region.”
Still not enough?
“If you mistakenly hit the main artery of the thigh instead of the ankle, then either you intended to make a mistake or you shouldn’t be a sniper. There are snipers, not many, who ‘choose’ to make mistakes.”
They knew who they were facing. They don’t even refer to their victims as “terrorists,” only “inciters.” One compared them to members of a youth movement.
“Even if you don’t know their precise ‘ranks,’ you can tell by the charisma who the group leader is.”
They chose their victims by their charisma, with a sniper’s precision. Their “leadership aura” has destined young men to a life of disability in the cage that is Gaza.
But that was not enough. They become bloodthirsty as only young incited people can be. They wanted more blood, not just blood, a child’s blood. Not just a child’s blood, but in front of his family.

Flares lit up the sky over the eastern border area of Gaza City on Sunday evening as the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) intensively fired live rounds at agricultural plots of land.
According to local sources, the IOF opened fire at cultivated lands in the east of Gaza City, with no known reason, and used flares to light up the sky over the area.
A Palestinian observation point in the east of al-Maghazi refugee camp (central Gaza) also came under gunfire attack, with no reported casualties.

Israeli navy gunboats opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats off the coast of Gaza City on Saturday morning.
Local sources said that the gunboats opened machinegun fire and water cannons on the fishing boats three nautical miles off the northwest of Gaza coast.
They said that the attack damaged a number of fishing boats and forced the fishermen to return to shore fearing for their lives.
The Israeli navy forces routinely attack Palestinian fishing boats and block their work causing casualties and material damage other than arresting fishermen and confiscating their boats.

Israeli navy today opened gunfire towards Palestinian fishermen who were sailing off the Gaza shore to the west of the town of Beit Lahia, north of the enclave, reported WAFA correspondent.
No injuries were reported, however.
Despite the signed agreements between the Palestinians and Israel, which allow fishermen to go 12 nautical miles inside the Mediterranean Sea, the Israeli navy targets fishermen almost daily and does not allow them to go further than three nautical miles, which the fishermen say is not enough to catch fish.
A large number of Gazans rely on fishing for daily living in light of the tight decade-old blockade imposed by Israel on the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Tuesday morning attacked Palestinian farmers and fishermen in the besieged Gaza Strip.
A local field observer told Quds Press that four army bulldozers and one excavator infiltrated into a border area inside Gaza, particularly on the eastern side of al-Nahda neighborhood in Rafah.
He said that the bulldozers and the excavators embarked on digging and leveling lands in the area, while Israeli soldiers fired some tear gas canisters at farmers in the east of al-Qarara town in Khan Yunis (southern Gaza).
The teargas attack forced the farmers to leave their plots of land and stay away from the area.
In the northwest of Gaza, Israeli gunboats opened machinegun fire at fishermen and their boats off the shore of Beit Lahia town. Luckily no one was hurt in the gunfire attack.

A Palestinian official report has showed an increase in the number of Israeli violations against Gaza fishermen in February, compared to previous months.
The report, which was released by the agricultural work committees in Gaza, said that 19 different violations were committed last month by the Israeli occupation navy and their gunboats against fishermen.
Those violations included pursuits, attacks with live ammunition and water cannons, and attempts to capsize fishing boats.
Three fishermen moderately injured when Israeli naval forces used water cannons and live ammunition against them during the reporting period.
The violations also included the detention of three fishermen after their exposure to attacks by Israeli forces in Gaza waters.
In addition, the Israeli navy confiscated one boat, damaged two others partially, and ruined seven fishing nets during the same period.
In a related context, the report pointed out that the Israeli occupation army had reduced or expanded the fishing zone in Gaza waters eight times last month and completely prevented fishing activities along the Gaza coast for three days during the last military tension.
