Body of Palestinian evacuated from Gaza border
Palestinian medics on Saturday evacuated the body of a man killed near Gaza's border with Israel a day earlier.
Palestinian medical teams on Saturday morning evacuated the body of a man killed a day earlier in the Gaza Strip near the northern border with Israel.
Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra said the body would be transferred to Kamal Udwan hospital in Jabaliya, after emergency teams coordinated with Israel to retrieve the body.
The man, who was not identified, was found dead near the Bedouin village by Beit Hanoun, close to Israel's Erez crossing.
An Israeli military spokeswoman said a gunman had approached the border on Friday afternoon and opened fire on Israeli forces. Soldier returned fire and identified a direct hit, she said.
Also on Friday, Israeli forces shot dead a man trying to enter Israel from the Sinai border with Egypt, and wounded another person. Both were later found to be unarmed, a military spokeswoman said. Israeli media reported that the pair were residents of the Gaza Strip.
IOF soldiers kill Palestinian near Erez crossing
Israeli occupation forces (IOF) killed a Palestinian man near the Erez crossing to the north of the Gaza Strip on Friday night.
Hebrew press reported that the IOF soldiers fired at a young man when he approached the border fence near the crossing and killed him.
Dr. Ashraf Al-Qudra, the health ministry’s spokesman, told Quds Press that the IOF informed the ministry of the presence of a martyr near the fence.
He said that the ministry told the Red Cross in order to arrange for collecting the body, adding that contacts with the IOF were severed before the ambulance teams could find it.
Qudra quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the body of a dead man was in the area but ambulance cars could not enter the area in the dark without permission from the IOF or else they could be targeted.
The IOF command had earlier announced that a Palestinian was killed and another was wounded on Thursday night when they tried to infiltrate into 1948 occupied Palestine from Egyptian territory but would not identify them.

Palestinian Killed By Army Fire In Northern Gaza
Palestinian medical sources reported, on Friday evening, that one resident was killed by Israeli military fire near the Beit Hanoun (Erez) Terminal, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
Israeli media sources reported that soldiers, stationed near the terminal, noticed a Palestinian approaching the border fence, in northern Gaza, and shot him dead.
Medical sources in Gaza stated that medics are holding talks with the Red Cross in order to retrieve the body of the slain Palestinian from the Israeli side as the Palestinians are not allowed to approach the border area with Israel.
On Thursday evening, Israeli soldiers shot and killed one Palestinian, and wounded another, when the two allegedly tried to infiltrate into Israeli territory.
The wounded resident suffered serious injuries and was moved to Soroka Hospital, in Be’er Sheva.
Israeli Ynet News reported that the army only released information about the incident on Friday, and added that the army is investigating whether the infiltrators intended to carry out an attack in Israel, or were just smugglers.
The Israeli Radio said that initial information revealed that the slain resident is from the Gaza Strip, and that he was killed in an area close to where one Israeli was killed and several others were wounded in a shooting attack that took place on June 18.

Israeli
troops shot dead a man trying to infiltrate the Sinai border with Egypt
and wounded another on Friday, the Israeli military said, in the latest
in a series of deadly incidents along a once quiet frontier.
Both men, who crossed the desert border under cover of darkness, turned out to be unarmed when Israeli medics found them after dawn, a military spokeswoman said.
She would not divulge the identities or nationalities of the infiltrators though Israeli media said they were Palestinians from the nearby Gaza Strip.
"Israeli border police identified two suspects infiltrating Israel through the Israel-Egypt border," the spokeswoman said. When they failed to heed orders to stop, the troops "fired at the suspects," she added.
Last month armed men shot and killed an Israeli who was working on a fence being put up along the border, where tensions have risen since former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, an Israeli ally, was overthrown a year ago in a popular revolt.
Israel says the Egyptian authorities have lost control of the vast Sinai desert, with Bedouin bandits, jihadists and Palestinian militants from Gaza filling the vacuum.
African migrants have also poured across the porous border in the past two years, with the Israeli government under growing pressure from public opinion to halt the influx.

Israeli military strikes Gaza, kills 1 militant
A Palestinian militant was killed and four people were wounded in Israeli air and artillery attacks in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, a Gaza health official said. The Israeli military confirmed a combined air and artillery attack, which Gaza health official Dr. Ashraf al-Kidra said wounded three Palestinians, including one critically.
Al-Kidra said a second airstrike later Thursday morning killed the militant and wounded another. The Israeli military had no immediate comment on that report.

The bus that was targeted this morning
The Palestinians had no information on the identities of the three men wounded in the first attack, so it was not clear whether they were militants or civilians. The military said that strike targeted militants from Gaza's ruling Hamas group who were preparing to launch an antitank missile at Israeli soldiers patrolling the Israel-Gaza border.
The second strike targeted an abandoned militant training site, Palestinian officials said.

Ma'moon ad-Dam 12
On 20 June 2012, a 12-year-old boy is killed in an air strike on Gaza as he played with a ball during a family picnic. Amneh lives in Gaza City with her husband, Mohammad, and their 12-year-old son Ma’moon. “Ma’moon was the only son I had,” says Amneh, whose husband is blind as a result of diabetes. Life is difficult for Mohammad living in Gaza City and Ma’moon helped his father as much as he could. “My son used to go with his father to the mosque, market and any other place outside the house. Ma'moon was his father's eyes,” says Amneh. On 20 June 2012, the family decided to go to a piece of land they own |
outside Gaza City near the beach. Ma’moon went to the property first, whilst Amneh prepared a picnic. She recalls her son telephoned her after he got to the land. “He asked me to get there quickly because many Israeli drone planes were circling the sky near the land. I also heard drone planes circling over our neighbourhood.
Life had been very tense since Monday, 18 June, with Israel bombing different areas in the Gaza Strip, killing and injuring several people.” Amneh says she was nervous as she drove to their property but was relieved to see families sitting outside and children playing in the neighbourhood where their land was located. After arriving the family sat down to rest in their hut and Ma’moon took a nap on his mother’s lap.
“Several hours later, we performed the noon prayer,” Amneh recalls. “Ma'moon started a fire and made us some coffee. After that, Ma'moon got his ball and said he wanted to play around in the land. It was around 2:30 pm. He was playing west of the hut about three to four metres away, when a huge explosion rocked the entire area. ‘Ma'moon, my son. My child is dead. They've killed him,’ I shouted as thick smoke filled the area. I went crazy. I got up and started looking for Ma'moon between trees, hoping he might have escaped. I called his name but he did not answer. I could not see him,” says Amneh.
“I looked at the spot where the explosion had taken place. The smoke was still rising,” Amneh remembers. “I saw Ma'moon on his back on the ground. His body was covered in blood and full of shrapnel. He was moaning, and then quiet. I put his head on my shoulder and carried him back to the hut. I placed him on my husband's lap,” Amneh says. “At that moment, I saw my husband's neck and head bleeding profusely.” Amneh shouted for an ambulance and men from the neighbourhood rushed to help her carry her son and husband. “Doctors pronounced Ma'moon dead at the hospital,” Amneh says. “My husband's head, neck, leg and one of his fingers were injured by shrapnel. The drone targeted my only child and took him away from me. [...] Why? He was not a fighter.
Neither was he found near fighters. They killed him while he was playing with his ball. Who is going to tease and joke with me? Who is going to take my husband out to the neighbourhood and the mosque? Ma'moon was his father's eyes. He was my hands, my legs, my heart and my mind. I lost everything when I lost him.”

Tadamun Foundation for Human Rights stated that occupation authorities had killed 67 Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza during the first half of the year of 2012.
Ahmad Tubassi, a researcher at the Foundation, said that 48 Palestinians, from the Gaza strip, have been killed in assassination operations, and which considered the most prominent abuses committed by the occupation forces against Palestinians during the first half of this year.
March and June had witnessed a remarkable increase in targeting Palestinian civilians through the bombing of civilian facilities, cars, motorcycles and homes, and through occupation forces' incursions and infiltration into the Gaza Strip, where 30 people were killed during March, while 25 citizens were killed in June, Tubassi explained.
The rest of the months had also witnessed various Israeli crimes where 57 people from Gaza have been killed and 10 in occupied West Bank, 5 martyrs during January, another 5 martyrs in April, two martyrs in the month of February one of them was from the West Bank and the other from Gaza strip.
Tubassi pointed out that among the martyrs there were16 children aged between 4 and 16 years as well as 4 women.
Tadamun Foundation condemned the occupation racist practices in light of the escalation of killings and crimes against the Palestinian people in total violation of the international treaties that protect, the Human Rights and the Fourth Geneva Convention (GCIV) relating to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War and with regard to human rights of peoples and ensure their security and living in peace, and all the international norms regarding the right to live in peace and security.
Tubassi also stressed on the need to stand against the Israeli assassination policy and indiscriminate bombing in the Palestinian territories which are totally contrary to all international laws and norms, which could be classified as war crimes. He warned against the serious threat for the Palestinian people's lives as Israeli officials and courts legalized the killing of innocent civilian people.

The Israeli occupation forces continued its arbitrary aggression against the people of Gaza strip during the month of June, where they carried out dozens of military incursions and operations in the Palestinian territories killing a number of Palestinians and detaining others, in addition to the Israeli destruction, confiscation, and attacks against the Palestinian people and territories in occupied West Bank, as well as to the siege imposed on Gaza.
Twenty-five Palestinian civilians have been killed in the Palestinian territories during the past month, including six children under the age of eighteen.
In the West Bank, two citizens, Na'im Salama Mohammed Najjar,32, and Anwar Khalil Abed Rabbo, both from the town of Yatta in Al-Khalil city, died after being shot by a settler in the Alsemia, near the town of Samu.
In the Gaza Strip, the IOF have resumed its aggression last month where they killed 23 Palestinians, including six children between the ages of 2 and 18 years. The Israeli assassination policy has also targeted 17 Palestinians, including a number of resistance men.
Furthermore, three resistance fighters have been martyred on 18th June in armed clashes which took place on the Egyptian-Palestinian borders during an attack by the resistance in southern Palestine during which a soldier of the Israeli border police was killed.
Ahmed Toubasi, a lawyer and researcher at the Tadamun Foundation, condemned the occupation racist practices against the Palestinian people in light of the escalation of aggression and crimes against them, especially those crimes perpetrated against citizens in Gaza Strip during the recent aggression, as well as the siege imposed on them which considerably affect the living conditions of people.
Toubasi insisted on the Palestinian people's right to live in security and freedom and dignity, like everyone else in the world, warning against the continued violations of human rights in the Palestinian territories.
Tadamun Foundation called on international community to assume its responsibilities and to pressure the occupation to stop these violation through obliging it to bear its legal and ethical responsibilities as an "occupying state" as stipulated in international treaties and conventions.

Hamas condemns the murder of its cadre in Syria
Kamal Husni Ghanaja
Hamas mourned on Wednesday one of its cadres who was murdered in his home in the Syrian capital, saying that it was investigating the case.
Hamas said in a statement on Wednesday that it was greatly saddened and prayed for the soul of Kamal Husni Ghanaja (Nizar/Abu Mujahid) to rest in peace.
The movement described the murder as “cowardly”, adding that it was holding its own investigations to determine who was involved in this “sinful crime”.
It underlined that Abu Mujahid had always been in service of his people’s national cause in the lines of Hamas, adding that his blood would not go in vain.
Mossad behind assassination of Hamas member in Syria: Official
A Palestinian official says Mossad was behind the assassination of a senior Hamas member in the Syrian capital Damascus.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Kamal Hussein Ghannaja was killed in a suburb of Damascus on Wednesday.
“A group of people entered his home in Qudsaya… where he was liquidated.”
“According to our information, Mossad was behind the assassination,” the official said.
Ghannaja was one of the deputies of Mahmud al-Mabhuh, a senior Hamas commander who was killed in a hotel room in Dubai in January 2010.
Investigations into the incident suggested that Mossad also had a role in the 2010 killing.
Meanwhile, Israeli Minister for Military Affairs Ehud Barak claimed that it was not “necessarily right” that the Israeli spy agency had been behind the Wednesday assassination.
Hamas says militant assassinated in Damascus
A senior Hamas leader says one of the Palestinian militant group's members has been assassinated in Damascus.
Izzat Risheq, a senior leader of Hamas, wrote on his Facebook page that Kamal Ghanaja, also known as Nizar Abu Mujahed, was killed Wednesday night in the Syrian capital.
Risheq said Hamas was working to identify the assassin and that Ghanaja's blood "shall not be shed in vain." He had no details on how Ghanaja died.
Hamas did not report the assassination on its official media outlets.
Israeli media reported Ghanaja was shot to death in his home and was a former deputy of slain Hamas operative Mahmoud al-Mabhouh.
Israel is widely suspected of having assassinated Mabhouh in a Dubai hotel in 2010, though it has never confirmed or denied involvement.
Hamas says party leader killed in Damascus
A Hamas leader was assassinated in Damascus on Wednesday night, a member of the party's politburo said.
Izzat al-Rishq wrote on his Facebook page that Kamal Ghanaja, also known as Nizar Abu Mujahed, was killed in his home in the Syrian capital.
Hamas is investigating the crime, al-Rishq said, adding that the murder would not go unpunished.
A Hamas official in Lebanon told Agence-France Presse that the group suspected Israel's Mossad of killing Ghanaja.
Ghanaja had worked as an aide to Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, a senior Hamas leader who was shot dead in a hotel room in Dubai, an assassination widely attributed to Mossad, which never confirmed or denied involvement.
Speaking to Israel's Army Radio on Thursday, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak refused to confirm of deny Israeli involvement in Wednesday's killing, but said Ghanaja "wasn't one of the righteous men of the generation."
Several websites affiliated to the opposition to President Bashar Assad blamed the Syrian regime for Ghanaja's killing and said Assad's forces murdered the Hamas leader as a message to the movement not to reject its long-time ally.
Hamas' politburo moved to Damascus in 1999 after it was expelled from Jordan, but the party quietly quit the Syrian capital amid the bloody revolt against Assad. In February, Hamas leaders publicly denounced Assad and declared their support for Syrian rebels.

Shreds of black and blue cloth stained in red lay scattered across an olive grove on the outskirts of Gaza City.
The remains of 13-year-old Ma’moun al-Dam’s t-shirt lay hooked into an olive bush and his sandals flung five meters away from where he was killed.
Nobody is talking about what happened at 2.30pm on Wednesday afternoon, and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), as usual, are not being questioned bout their actions.

Nobody is talking about what happened at 2.30pm on Wednesday afternoon, and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), as usual, are not being questioned bout their actions.
Ma’moun was killed by a bomb dropped by the IDF while he was having a picnic with his parents in a garden in the area between Zeitoun and Tal Elhawwa neighbourhoods
One of Ma’moun’s neighbors- a man in his 20s who didn’t want to be identified- recalled the events, “I heard a scream and came to the olive grove. I could see black smoke. I froze when I arrived- I couldn’t do anything for five minutes. I saw a young mother screaming over her son’s body.”
The hole where the bomb fell was shallow, and Ma’moun was around a meter and a half away when it landed. His right arm was cooked to a crisp and his body riddled with small holes. His clothes were burnt and lay in shreds in the bushes, sprawled across the olive grove and into neighboring land. The force of the bomb sent the nearby metal fence flying two meters. The metal is riddled with tiny pea-sized holes. Ma’moun’s neighbors believe that the bomb held metal pellets, which exploded in a cluster, causing his torso to be dotted with waves of small wounds.
Ma’moun’s school tests and notes were scattered around the picnic site, out of reach of the explosion, which melted the olive grove’s plastic fence. The neighbor recalled, “Ma’moun always likes to write, he brings papers with him everywhere."
The olive grove has barely been touched in 24 hours. The family’s picnic lies untouched on a plastic table. Next to the dried pickles are a mattress and cushion- both now stained in blood as Ma’moun’s mother moved her son into the shade, laying him in front of his father, who is blind and was injured in the head during the attack. Shrapnel hangs in the bushes and Ma’moun’s phone split into three pieces, intertwined in the brambles.
The neighbor explained that Ma’moun’s mother “put his body down in front of her husband and said to her husband, who cannot see, “Say mashallah; you have a martyr for a son."
Ma’moun’s death is one of 16 since escalations began on Monday. The 13-year-old’s death has gone largely unreported and the IDF have made no official statement on his death, except by responding to tweets asking for an explanation with a deflection. :

Please follow @WelshInGaza's lead in my last RT and ask @IDFSpokesperson why they are killing teenagers on picnics in Gaza.
@IDFSpokesperson @WelshInGaza @Sarahcarr Why does Hamas use teenagers on picnics as human shields? Gaza ow.ly/bKIvO
Neighbors have said that no missiles were launched from the area and if they had, the family would certainly have left their picnic, especially during an escalation No proof of a rocket launch has been offered by the IDF and nobody is asking questions about why a 13-year-old was killed.
Put pressure on the IDF to explain why they killed Ma’moun al-Dam.
