Some 44 Jewish settlers escorted by 33 American soldiers on Thursday broke into al-Aqsa Mosque's plazas amid protection by Israeli police.
Islamic Endowment Department in Jerusalem, said that the American soldiers stormed the holy site in civilian uniform with the company of an Israeli officer.
The incursion was made through the Israeli-controlled al-Magharebah gate and was concluded by several tours in the courtyards of the holy shrine before exiting the mosque from al-Silsilah gate.

Responding to statement by U.S. Ambassador David Friedman, the official Palestinian Presidency spokesperson, Nabil Abu Rodeina, said Tuesday that the ongoing illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine is the root cause of all violence in the region, and denounced the American stances that destroy all chances of real peace.
Abu Rodeina stated that Israel’s insistence on keeping its illegal occupation, violations and apartheid colonialist policies, are the root cause of all violence in the entire region.
He added that the only way to end the conflict and achieve peace in the region is to end the ongoing illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine, by implementing all related United Nations and Security Council resolutions that call for ending this and establishing an independent Palestinian state.
His statements came in response to the American Ambassador to Israel David M. Friedman, who accused the Palestinian leadership of praising attacks against Israel, including the latest stabbing Itamar illegal Israeli colony, in the occupied West Bank.
Abu Rodeina said that, instead of trying to create a positive atmosphere that could enable the resumption of real peace talks, Friedman is seeking further tension, and is attempting to bring more violence to the region.
“Such statements are unbecoming of an Ambassador; they are complete flawed and aim at creating more tension,” he said, “The Palestinian leadership supports nonviolent resistance against the Israeli occupation, and never condones violence of any type. Friedman’s statements only lead to more harm and violence to the region.”
The Palestinian official also stated that real and comprehensive peace requires the full Israeli withdrawal from the occupied territories, the establishment of a viable, contagious Palestinian State, with East Jerusalem as its capital, by implementing all related international resolutions.

US administration has proposed that the UNRWA changes its school textbooks in order to continue to receive US donations, Jordanian newspaper Al-Ghad reported, on Tuesday.
The newspaper said that the US proposed two amendments to the textbooks, which include the abolition of all references to the right of return and issue of refugees in general, as well having no mention of Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.
Al-Ghad said that the other proposed condition, which would guarantee the continuation of US aid to the UN body only in occupied Palestinian territories and Jordan, is to stop commemorating occasions such as Nakba Day and the Balfour Declaration.
Meanwhile, the UNRWA’s Chief of Communications, Sami Msha’sha’, said that the US had conditioned the continuation of aid to the organization after carrying out the “amendments”, and said it would only fund UNRWA’s operations in Jordan and the occupied territories.
He reiterated that the UNRWA is suffering from an “unprecedented” budget crisis, but stressed that it would continue offering its services to Palestinian refugees in besieged Gaza, the occupied West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.

Palestinian factions on Monday evening called for escalating clashes with Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) on Friday and declare it as a day of anger across all occupied Palestinian territories and refugee camps in addition to Arab and Muslim capitals and cities after Friday prayers in protest at the US and Israeli policies.
In a statement, the factions urged Palestinians to head to the flash points with IOF soldiers and military barriers and to participate in the events of the World Solidarity Day for the support of the rights of Palestinians in 1948 Occupied Palestine which coincides on January 30.
The factions also stressed the importance to put an end to the internal division and to come up with mechanisms for the implementation of the Palestinian Central Council's resolutions through the Executive Committee of Palestine Liberation Organization. The most prominent decisions include the dissolution of Oslo Accords, withdrawing the recognition of the state of Israel and rather recognizing the state of Palestine at the UN Security Council.
The statement also called on Palestinians to activate a comprehensive economic boycott of Israel and the US as well.

Israeli ministerial committee for legislation will again bring to discussion the bill that bans the Adhan (call for prayer) via loud speakers from mosques. The law will be voted on in the Knesset by the first hearing.
Accelerating the legislation of the law was made upon request of the Israeli government as a kind of retaliation of the Arab MKs who boycotted the speech of the US Vice President Mike Pence. They raised photos of Occupied Jerusalem, al-Aqsa Mosque, and al-Qiama church in the Knesset. Video
The parliamentary constitution committee is going to hold, next Wednesday, the first session to discuss the draft law and present it before the Knesset for voting.
The Adhan ban bill seeks to impose limits on the Muslim call to prayer within the Green Line and Occupied Jerusalem. It prevents the use of loudspeakers by mosques in the night and dawn hours.

Over 33 Jewish settlers on Monday stormed the plazas of al-Aqsa Mosque, hours prior to the visit of the US Vice President Michael Pence to al-Burq Wall within the holy site.
Jerusalemite sources told Quds Press that the incursion took place in the morning hours from the Israeli-controlled al-Magharebah gate.
Israeli police have been deployed in the neighborhoods of the holy city since Monday morning amid tightened security measures. The police security moves included the closure of many roads and the erection of military barriers for inspecting Palestinian youths before Pence’s visit.

U.S. Vice President Mike Pence, who landed in Israel Sunday evening after spending 36 hours in Egypt and Jordan, has kicked off his meeting with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, telling him he is honored to be in Israel’s capital, Jerusalem.
Meeting privately, Pence told Netanyahu it was a "great honor" to be in "Israel's capital, Jerusalem".
Later in the day, Pence will deliver a speech in Israel’s Knesset plenum.
At the start of the meeting, Netanyahu said "Dear Vice President, I have had the privilege over all these years to welcome hundreds of leaders to the capital of Israel, Jerusalem. This is the first time that we're both able to say these three words."
"I want to thank President Trump and yourself on the historic decision that I know you supported. I look forward to discussing with you, as we have begun, and to continue to strengthen our wonderful alliance. It has never been stronger, and to progress peace and security in our region is our common goal."
Israel's Foreign Ministry says Pence received a full head-of-state welcome. Present at his welcome ceremony were White House Mideast envoy Jason Greenblatt, U.S. Ambassador David Friedman and the Israeli ambassador to Washington, Ron Dermer.
The Palestinian Authority is boycotting Pence's visit to the region, as are Christian leaders in Israel due to Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital and announcement to move the embassy.

Israel’s outgoing chief archivist warned that most of the contents of Israeli archives, which include war crimes and human rights violations, is closed and will never be opened.
According to Lazovik, Israelis have committed war crimes.
The Shin Bet security service was involved in education in the Arab sector; Israel treated its Arab (and other) citizens in a manner that doesn’t dignify a self-proclaimed democratic entity.
He added that among three million files shelved in the government archives only 550 have been opened.
In a scathing report issued Monday and published by Haaretz on Wednesday, Yaakov Lazovik summarized the issues faced by the Israel State Archives, which is subordinate to the Prime Minister’s Office.
Lazovik, who announced his retirement eight months after more than six years on the job, said that under the cloak of national security concerns, Israeli government conceals from the public material much of it unrelated to security issues.
This includes material that could prove embarrassing to the government, such as human rights violations.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday said that he was "disappointed" by India's refusal to back the US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital but affirmed that he would not let it spoil his visit to the Asian country.
Netanyahu told India Today media group, in an interview released on Monday, that he has a "special relationship" with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.
However, this relationship was clouded by India's vote, along with more than 100 countries, against the US Jerusalem move at the UN General Assembly in December 2017.
"I am certainly disappointed," Netanyahu said, "But I think this visit shows that our relationship is moving forward on so many fronts."
Ahead of the visit, India canceled a $500 million deal to buy Israeli Spike anti-tank missiles.
Israel exports an average of $1 billion of military equipment each year to India, but Modi wants to end India's status as the world's top defense importer.
In an effort to strengthen business ties with India, Netanyahu arrived in the country at the head of a 130-member business delegation.

Israeli Agricultural Minister Uri Ariel wants more injured and dead Palestinians in Gaza. “What is this special weapon we have that we fire and see pillars of smoke and fire, but nobody gets hurt?” he said on local radio. “It is time for there to be injuries and deaths as well.” This was reported by Haaretz.
Ariel’s comments come at a time when, bolstered and emboldened by US support over Jerusalem, Israel is seeking to increase ways in which Palestinians are restricted even further in terms of politics, freedom of movement and resistance to its military occupation. The increasingly threatening rhetoric, combined with its often resultant violence, is a clear message that Israel wants Palestinian existence to be determined according to its own colonial needs.
Indeed the minister’s remarks are indicative of Israel’s need for violence and conflict to sustain its existence. Framing his penchant for more deaths against the narrative of the purported “Palestinian terrorist”, he also amalgamated his demands with Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman’s comments from 2016. At that time, far-right extremist Lieberman recommended the further fragmentation of Palestinians by suggesting that the homes of those involved in resistance should be demolished, and that those who “desire coexistence” should be rewarded.
Lieberman’s differentiation of Palestinians, particularly the latter group, is a simplistic approach which negates many of the reasons why not all Palestinians are visibly involved in resistance. One obvious reason which Israel has perpetrated is the juxtaposition of survival due to extreme poverty and lack of basic necessities, and the struggle against several forms of state violence. It also refutes the fact that most Palestinians, unlike the leadership of the Palestinian Authority, do not want to live under colonial rule.
Whether Ariel’s statement suggests yet another military offensive against the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip remains to be seen. However, there is no doubt that demands for state violence against civilians will become more brazen, as Israel basks in the impunity which is sustained on two levels: that generated by its own actions and absence of accountability under the pretext of “security concerns”; and the international community’s endorsement of this false narrative.
Another ramification of Ariel’s words is the separation of the visible injuries and killings in the occupied West Bank and the silent forms of slow extermination in Gaza as a result of Israeli-imposed deprivation. Clearly, he prefers the macabre spectacle of multitudes of injured and dead Palestinian civilians in Gaza and, what is more, he is allowed to express himself in such a manner without censure of any kind, safe in the knowledge that killing Palestinians has not only become normalised, but also expected.
The dehumanization of Palestinians in the Israeli minister’s words is also reflective of how statistics contribute to the absence of Palestinians in terms of collective memory. For Israel, the numbers serve to boost the false claims of self-defense. Conversely, statistics for Palestinians depict the cycles of murder by Israeli institutions. The international community, on the other hand, is partial to the anonymity of numbers, particularly when there is no requirement other than for it to turn a blind eye until Israel decides upon the next phase of Gaza’s destruction, whereupon the UN will exhort the colonial entity’s “right” to defend itself against the colonized. In doing so, it will also affirm its contempt for human rights and resolutions by refusing to uphold the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and, indeed, their right to resist military occupation by any means available.

The UN on Friday called on Israel to conduct an immediate and complete investigation into all incidents in which the use of force led to the death or injury of Palestinian citizens in the occupied territories and the Gaza Strip.
“Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Nickolay Mladenov, has expressed his concern at the continuing clashes between Palestinians and the Israeli security forces in the occupied West Bank and Gaza, including the two teenagers who were killed [on Thursday],” Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for the secretary-general, told journalists at the UN headquarters in New York.
“All incidents in which the use of force has resulted in death or injury must be promptly and thoroughly investigated,” he said.
Two Palestinian teenagers were cold-bloodedly shot and killed by Israeli soldiers on Thursday during angry protests against the US recognition of Occupied Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
A Palestinian teen from the Gaza Strip was killed east of the Bureij refugee camp after a live round was fired into his chest. Three other Palestinians were wounded, one critically.
In the West Bank village of Iraq Burin, south of Nablus, a 16-year-old boy died in hospital after he was shot by an Israeli soldier, without firing warning shots.
