Massacre survivors seek trial of Sharon in Belgium Twenty-eight survivors of the Sabra and Shatila massacres in Beirut 19 years ago lodged an official complaint against the Israeli prime minister, Ariel Sharon, in Brussels yesterday, taking advantage of a 1993 law which allows Belgium to try foreign nationals for war crimes committed abroad.
254 villagers were massacred in April 1948, in the most spectacular single attack in the conquest of Palestine.
