Several Palestinians were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at daybreak Tuesday in abduction sweeps rocking the West Bank and Jerusalem.
The Israeli army claimed responsibility for the abduction of eight Palestinians on allegations of their involvement in anti-occupation activities.
The arrestees were dragged to Israeli detention centers pending exhaustive questioning.
24-year-old Sadam Hanani was kidnapped by the Israeli military from his family home in Nablus’s eastern town of Beit Furik.
The IOF wreaked havoc on civilian homes in the area.
The occupation forces further stormed Qalqilya province, in the northern West Bank, and kidnapped two ex-prisoners—Lotfi al-Ja’idi, released last month after he had served 13 years in Israeli jails; and Qasam Abdul Hafedh. Another young man was kidnapped by the IOF from the city.
In the meantime, the IOF kidnapped the brother of the Palestinian protester Ahmed Jarrar, chased down by the Israeli military after he had allegedly carried out an anti-occupation shooting attack a couple of weeks earlier, which left an extremist Israeli rabbi dead.
Another relative of Ahmed, Wesam, was also kidnapped in the manhunt, carried out in Jenin’s western town of Wadi Berkin.
The campaign culminated in the abduction of three Palestinian youths following a round of home break-ins in Jerusalem’s Qalandiya refugee camp.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Thursday morning withdrew from different areas of Jenin in the West Bank, leaving behind massive destruction to four homes, amid conflicting reports on the number of casualties and detainees.
Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that the IOF destroyed four houses, one partially, seemingly in reprisal for the losses its troops suffered during its operation in Jenin city.
The wife of Hamas-affiliated martyr Naser Jarrar said she saw a body not belonging to her son Ahmed, who was reportedly killed in the armed clashes, adding that she had no other details about her son or anyone else.
Israeli troops from the army and border police on Wednesday night stormed different areas of Jenin, including al-Hadaf neighborhood in the city where they exchanged fire with Palestinian resistance fighters. The clashes continued into an early morning hour on Thursday.
The Hebrew media claimed that one armed Palestinian young man was killed and another was wounded during a shootout with special Israeli forces in Jenin city, adding that two soldiers were also wounded in the events.
Palestinian local sources and the health ministry identified the slain young man at first as Ahmed “Naser” Jarrar, whose father, a senior commander of al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas, was assassinated by the IOF in his wheelchair in 2002 in Tubas city during the second intifada (uprising).
Later in the morning, the health ministry claimed that the martyr was 31-year-old Ahmed “Ismail” Jarrar.
Israel’s Channel 10 said that Ahmed Jarrar traded fire from a short distance with soldiers from the Yamam unit and was able to injure two of them, one severely, before he was killed, describing the operation as a harsh night for the Yamam unit.

Ahmad Ismael Jarrar 31
The young man killed by Israeli soldiers in a pre-dawn raid in Jenin has been identified as Ahmad Ismael Jarrar, 31 – the cousin of the man that the Israeli forces were targeting.
The soldiers conducted the raid allegedly to extrajudicially execute a man (Ahmad Nasr Jarrar, 22) accused of the murder of an Israeli. But instead, they ended up killing the man’s cousin, Ahmad Ismael Jarrar. The two men look nothing alike, and are ten years separated in age.
How the Israeli soldiers confused the two is unknown, but it has become clear in the hours following the attack that they extrajudicially executed the wrong man.
Even if they had killed the targeted person, extrajudicial assassinations are considered illegal under international law and the Fourth Geneva Convention.

Army Kills A Young Palestinian Man, Injures Several Others, In Jenin

Israeli soldiers killed, on Thursday at dawn, a young Palestinian man, after shooting him with live fire, and a shell, in his home, in Wad Burqin area, west of Jenin, as he exchanged fire with them when they surrounded his home.
Israel claims that the Palestinian, identified as Ahmad Nasr Jarrar, 22, participated in the fatal shooting last week, when an Israeli colonist, identified as Rabbi Raziel Shevach, was killed in a drive-by shooting.
It is worth mentioning that Ahmad is the son of Nasr Jarrar, who was killed by Israeli army fire in Jenin, in 2002.
Hours after killing Nasr, the soldiers detonated his home, by firing shells and heavy fire at it, then a military bulldozer leveled it, after using loud speakers, ordering the Palestinians in the building to surrender, and abducted them.
After detonating and demolishing the home, the soldiers continued to fire live rounds, while sounds of further explosions could be heard, but the soldiers refused to allow ambulances and firefighters from entering the area.
The invasion and the killing of the young man, led to massive protests, before the soldiers fired dozens of live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs, causing several injuries, including at least one, who was shot with live fire.
On Wednesday, evening that soldiers invaded Jenin, and Jenin refugee camp, confiscated surveillance recordings, before abducting two Palestinians, and injured many others.
The soldiers also invaded and ransacked several stores, and confiscated surveillance recordings, in Jenin city.
At least thirty vehicles participated in the invasion into Jenin and Jenin refugee camp, after the soldiers surrounded, and isolated, many areas.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Monday arrested 17 Palestinians in raid and search campaigns launched in the West Bank provinces, according to a statement by the Israeli army.
The IOF conducted large-scale raids against Palestinian shops and confiscated the recordings of their surveillance cameras. These raids fall in line with Israeli search operations for the Palestinians who carried out an anti-occupation shooting attack in which an Israeli rabbi was killed a few days ago.
Local sources told the PIC reporter that violent clashes broke out between Palestinian youths and the IOF soldiers who raided Qabatia town, south of Jenin city, adding that dozens of Palestinians were injured after being attacked with live bullets and tear gas canisters.
The IOF stormed al-Janiya village, west of Ramallah, broke into a number of houses, wreaked havoc on them and interrogated some citizens, but no arrests were reported.
During the raid, the IOF seized a private Palestinian vehicle and distributed notices threatening to wage further military measures against the residents for allegedly being involved in "acts of violence".
The IOF arrested two Palestinian youths in Tuqu' town and an ex-prisoner in al-Khader town in Bethlehem province.
The PIC reporter said that the IOF broke into the house of the ex-prisoner Mohammed Mousa, 32, searched it, wreaked havoc on it, and confiscated a taxi Mousa uses to earn a living for his family.
Eyewitnesses told the PIC reporter that the IOF arrested three Palestinian citizens after raiding and searching dozens of houses in Azzun town east of Qalqilya.
The IOF also arrested three Palestinians, including a university student, in Jericho and al-Khalil.
According to the PIC reporter, an Israeli military force erected a checkpoint early on Monday at the northern entrance to al-Fawwar refugee camp in al-Khalil, blocked the Palestinian citizens' movement and started to search vehicles and scrutinize the IDs of the citizens passing through the checkpoint.

Several Palestinians were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in abduction sweeps rocking the West Bank at predawn Sunday.
The Israeli army claimed responsibility for the abduction of 15 Palestinians on allegations of involvement in anti-occupation activities.
The IOF wreaked havoc on civilian homes and aggressively beat several arrestees in the presence of their family members.
Reporting from the northern West Bank, a PIC reporter said the occupation forces kidnapped 26-year-old Islam Samar from Jenin’s western town of Yamon after they ravaged his family home.
The IOF also seized surveillance cameras from a Palestinian home in Mesliya town, in Jenin.
Clashes burst out Rumana town, west of Jenin, after the IOF rolled into the area and sealed off its main thoroughfare with a military checkpoint. Several Palestinians choked on teargas in the clashes.
At the same time, the occupation army has tightened grip around Nablus province allegedly in the hunt for the perpetrator of an anti-occupation attack which left an Israeli dead last week.
According to the locals, a series of checkpoints have been set up by the IOF on the main access roads to the city, blocking civilians’ access out of and into the area.
Traffic jams have flared up on Nablus-Qalqilya road, Nablus al-Jadida-Madama, and Burin-Hawara, among other thoroughfares, as a result of the closure.
Overnight, occupation soldiers rummaged residential neighborhoods in quest of surveillance cameras.

Early Wednesday, several Israeli colonizers living in illegal colonies and outposts in the northern West Bank governorate of Nablus, attacked many Palestinian cars, causing damage and wounding two Palestinians.
In Hebron, Israeli soldiers abducted two Palestinians and confiscated gold and cash.
Medical sources said one Palestinian, identified as Ayman Farouq Obeidat, was injured when the colonizers hurled stones at his car, in Huwwara town.
They added that another Palestinian, identified as Aziz Bassam Dweikat, was also injured after the Israeli assailants hurled stones at his car, at a junction west of Nablus.
Israeli soldiers, who had been heavily deployed at and near these junctions following the death of an Israeli colonizer in the area on Tuesday night, did not attempt to stop the Israeli attackers. This forced hundreds of Palestinian cars to take longer, and largely unpaved roads, leading to Awarta then Beit town, to avoid the colonizers.
The closure caused huge traffic jams in the area, and many workers and students were unable to leave their communities.
The soldiers also isolated many Palestinian villages and towns in Nablus governorate, and initiated massive invasions and search campaigns, to locate the shooter or shooters, who killed an Israeli colonizer, on Tuesday evening, near Havat Gilad illegal colony, which was built on lands owned by Palestinians from Jeet village.
In Hebron, in the southern part of the West Bank, the soldiers invaded and searched homes in the ath-Thaheriyya town, south of the city, and abducted Shehda Suleiman Jabarin, 40.
The soldiers also invaded Hebron city, searched homes and illegally confiscated gold and cash from the home of Jassem Khairi Abu Rajab, after breaking into his property and violently searching it.

Rabbi Raziel Shevach 35
An Israeli settler, identified as 35-year old Rabbi Raziel Shevach, was shot and killed Tuesday while driving on an Israeli settler-only road near a colonial outpost in the northern part of the West Bank, near Nablus.
Israeli Education Minister, Naftali Bennett, the head of the ‘Jewish Home’ right-wing party, called for legalizing Havat Gilad outpost, and for conducting massive construction and expansion of Israeli colonies, in the occupied West Bank.
“It is not enough to apprehend the shooters, we need to take direct action by building and expanding the settlements,” he said, “Mahmoud Abbas needs to understand the heavy price the Palestinians will pay because of these attacks.”
Israeli Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked also called for harsh measures, and said that Israel needs to expel the families of Palestinian attackers, and demolish their homes.
In addition, Israeli Minister of Science, Technology and Space, Ofir Akunis, said that Israel must approve the final reading of the application of capital punishment for Palestinians involved in killing Israelis.
“I don’t want to even hear from those who oppose the death penalty for Palestinian attackers,” he said.
updates from:
The Israeli daily Ha’aretz reported that Dr. Guy Elad, a doctor at the Meir Medical Center, told their reporter that the victim “arrived at the hospital without a pulse, with no breath and no life signals.
He was rushed to the trauma room, where advanced resuscitation actions were performed and unfortunately despite our efforts his death was determined.”
The gunman or gunmen who fired the fatal shots fled the scene, and Israeli forces have locked down all nearby Palestinian villages and towns, preventing Palestinian civilians from going anywhere outside their homes.
The soldiers are also conducting house-to-house searches in the town of Jit, which is the town whose land was illegally annexed by Israel, to construct the Israeli settler-only road, and the colonialist outpost of Havat Gilad.
In addition, the Israeli military has closed the entrances to the city of Nablus, and are preventing all entry and exit from the city. The closure wreaked havoc on the evening commute for students and workers, many of whom were forced to remain in their workplaces or schools overnight after being prevented from returning home.
Shevach, who lived in Havat Gilad, was driving on Route 60, which is a major Israeli highway constructed on Palestinian land in the West Bank, when he was shot at by a passing vehicle. Palestinians are forbidden from driving on Route 60 without first obtaining hard-to-get Israeli permits.
Even with permits, Palestinian drivers are frequently subjected to stops and seizures of their vehicles and licenses by Israeli police and soldiers when they drive on Route 60 and other colonial Israeli byways.
Abu Obeida, the spokesperson of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said the “Nablus shooting is the first retaliation with live fire, and comes to remind the enemy, and those who support it, that what is coming is much bigger – what you fear is yet to come, the West Bank will remain a dagger in your abdomen.”
Following the fatal shooting, the Israeli army imposed a strict siege on all villages and towns in the Nablus governorate, and invaded many villages, such as Sorra, Iraq-Burin, and all southern area, including the New Nablus, al-Makhfiyya, before initiating extensive searches and confiscated surveillance tapes and equipment.
The army deployed a large number of soldiers in Nablus, in addition to calling for more military units to operate in the governorate, in preparation for a massive invasion and military operations.
Israeli media outlets said that the military received orders for carrying out a large-scale military operation, inside many villages and towns, in Nablus.
Meanwhile, dozens of colonist settlers closed Yitzhar road, while dozens more gathers at the Huwwara military roadblock, south of Nablus, before throwing rocks at dozens of Palestinian cars.
Palestinian medical sources said a young man, from ‘Awarta village, suffered various cuts and bruises after being attack by Israeli colonists.
