Thousands of Palestinians, including dozens of representatives of national factions and civil society organizations participated, Saturday, in the funeral procession of a Palestinian from the northern West Bank governorate of Nablus, after Israel held his corpse for more than three months.
Media sources in Nablus said the army handed the corpse of Mohammad Abdul-Karim Marshoud, 30, to the Palestinian side at Jeet Junction, east of Nablus, before it was moved to Rafidia governmental hospital.
Mohammad’s corpse was later transferred to his family, in Balata refugee camp, east of the city, and his funeral ceremony was held at the local mosque.
It is worth mentioning that Marshoud died on April 9, 2018, from serious wounds he suffered a day earlier when an Israeli colonial settler shot him near Mishor Adumim illegal colony between Jerusalem and Jericho, reportedly after he attempted to carry out a stabbing attack with a screwdriver.

Thousands of Palestinians mourned late Friday three Palestinian youths whose bodies were returned by Israel after they were held in its mortuaries for periods between one and three months.
Earlier on Friday, Israeli forces handed over the bodies of Rami Wahid Sabarneh, from al-Khalil, Mohammad Marshoud, from Nablus, and Mohammad Anbar, from Tulkarem, to the Palestinian Red Crescent (PRC) at three checkpoints in the occupied West Bank.
In al-Khalil, a state of mourning was declared in Beit Ummar town where the martyr Wahid Sabarneh was buried amid growing anger over Israeli forces and settlers’ escalated crimes.
Sabarneh was shot dead by Israeli forces on June 2 while he was working on a bobcat excavator in the southern West Bank city of al-Khalil.
Marshoud died of injuries he sustained after being shot by an Israeli settler near Maale Adumim settlement in Jerusalem on 8th April 2018.
Anbar died in April a week after his arrest while he was seriously injured.
The Israeli government is currently holding the bodies of 28 slain Palestinians killed since the outbreak of Jerusalem Intifada in October 2015, along with 249 bodies of those killed since 1968.

Families of Palestinian slain youths, killed by Israeli gunfire, declared intention to organize a large vigil in Ramallah next Monday to demand the release of their withheld bodies.
The vigil is planned to be held in coincidence with a court hearing to consider over their appeal for the release of their dead sons’ bodies.
The families expressed deep concern over Israel’s intention to transfer the bodies to a place named “the cemetery of numbers”, because the graves had no names.
Israeli authorities earlier decided to release on Friday three bodies of slain youths killed by Israeli soldiers.
The Israeli government is currently holding the bodies of 15 slain Palestinians killed since the outbreak of Jerusalem Intifada in October 2015, along with 253 bodies of those killed since 1968.

IOF hands over bodies of two Palestinian martyrs
Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Friday evening handed over the bodies of two Palestinian martyrs in the northern West Bank after months of detention.
The IOF in Tulkarem handed over the body of Mohammed Anbar, 46, to the Palestinian Red Crescent.
Local sources told the PIC reporter that the handover took place at checkpoint 104 in the presence of a representative of Anbar's family, the Palestinian Military Liaison, and the Palestinian Red Crescent.
The sources added that Anbar was transferred to Thabet Thabet Hospital in Tulkarem and he is set to be buried on Saturday.

Israel's Supreme Court on Monday allowed the release of the bodies of three Palestinian martyrs kept in Israeli custody, a decision that was rejected by the family of Hadar Goldin, an Israeli soldier held captive in the Gaza Strip.
The court justified its decision by saying that it goes in line with the laws set by the Israeli cabinet which prohibit the release of the bodies of Palestinians who belong to Hamas or carry out fatal attacks.
Hamas refuses to start negotiations for a new prisoner exchange deal with Israel before the latter releases over 50 Palestinian prisoners who were released in the 2011 Wafa al-Ahrar deal but re-arrested later.

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin pledged, on Wednesday, that the Gaza Strip will not be rebuilt so long as Hamas governs the besieged enclave.
“Israel was and has remained the only actor in the region that conveys basic staples for the welfare of the residents of Gaza,” the Times of Israel reported Rivlin saying at a ceremony in honour of Israeli soldiers killed during Israel’s 2014 assault on the Gaza Strip.
He also said, according to Days of Palestine: “As long as Hamas administers Gaza with an eye only to destroying the state of Israel and attacking its citizens, and continues to hold the bodies of our soldiers, Gaza will not be rehabilitated.”
On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened Hamas would pay an “unbearable price” if it did not choose to accept a truce with Israel.
Hamas was freely elected in the last general Palestinian elections held in 2006. Israel has since imposed a stifling blockade on the Gaza Strip limiting the entry of medicines, construction supplies and food.

Khalid Samir Shehdah Abdul ‘Aal 18
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Monday announced that they killed a Palestinian, detained his body, and arrested two others near the border fence east of Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip.
A spokesman for the Israeli occupation army said in a statement that a group of Palestinian youths crossed the border fence east of Rafah, armed with Molotov cocktails, and attempted to burn an abandoned Israeli military post.
The IOF tracked the youths and opened fire at them, according to the spokesman. One was killed and two others were arrested, one of whom was seriously injured.
A local source told the PIC reporter that the IOF stationed at the border fence opened fire at a group of Palestinian youths whose fate remained unknown.
The source added that the IOF soldiers advanced into eastern Rafah and kidnapped the injured youths.
Gaza's Ministry of Health announced that ambulance crews were able to save a 16-year-old Palestinian shot in the shoulder and transfer him to Yousef al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah city.
Israeli Army Kills A Palestinian, Injures Three, Then Abducts Two Of Them
Israeli soldiers killed, on Monday evening, at least one Palestinian, and injured three others, including two who were then abducted by the soldiers after being injured, and one teenager who was rushed to a Palestinian hospital in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli news agency Haaretz reports that the four young men were trying to cross the border into Israel when the Israeli army spotted them and began shooting.
But video footage of the incident published by Quds News shows that the soldiers had invaded the Gaza Strip and were well within Palestinian territory when they grabbed the young men and dragged them across to their military base.
The disturbing footage shows the soldiers pulling one young man who is lying motionless on the ground, picking him up by arms and legs and dropping him repeatedly as they drag him across the stony ground. It is unclear whether the young man was alive or dead at the time.
Although the Israeli military claimed that the young men were “armed with fireworks”, no evidence was presented to back this claim.
The army also alleged that the soldiers “heard shots being fired at them,” but there has been no confirmation for his claim.
Only one of the wounded Palestinians, a 16 year old child, managed to escape the army’s attempt to abduct him, and was rushed to Abu Yousef Najjar Hospital, in Rafah, suffering a gunshot wound to his shoulder.
The three other Palestinians were taken by the soldiers who invaded the Palestinian lands, near the border fence, and took them away.
A Palestinian medic said the Palestinians (as confirmed by the video footage) did not cross the fence, and that he and his colleagues were only twenty meters away from the wounded Palestinians.
“We tried to provide aid to the wounded Palestinians; we were just twenty meters away from them,” the medic said, “but the soldiers threatened to shoot us, and forced us away.”
It is worth mentioning that some media outlets have reported that two of the young Palestinians were killed, while others report that one was killed.
Because the Israeli military is holding three of them, the extent of their wounds is unknown, and it is unclear whether one or two of them are dead.
The Israeli army claimed that the Palestinians were carrying cutters and flammable materials, and “were attempting to set fire to a vacant Israeli military sniper post along the border fence.
The Israeli army issued a statement holding the Hamas movement in Gaza fully responsible for “all attempts to cross the border fence and attack military installations.”
So far, the names of the Palestinians, including the deceased, remain unknown as they, except the wounded teen who was rushed to a Palestinian hospital, have been captured by the army.
Update
According to PCHR’s investigation, at approximately 15:30 on the same day, Israeli forces stationed behind the border fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel adjacent to the Return camp, east of al-Shawkah village, east of Rafah, and fired live bullets at 4 civilians, including a child, who crossed the border fence and set fire to snipers’ site used by the Israeli soldiers to open fire at the protestors.
As a result, the child was hit with a live bullet to the upper limbs, but he was able to flee back to the Gaza Strip territories. An Israeli force detained 3 young men and announced later the death of one of them and the injury of another. The Israeli soldiers crossed the border fence and moved about 300 meters into the Gaza Strip lands and pulled the 3 young men into Israel.
The Israeli forces’ spokesperson Avijaa Adraei announced through his Twitter page that a military force opened fire at 4 saboteurs from the Gaza Strip who crossed the security fence into Israel while carrying Incendiary materials and Scissors for wires as they attempted to set fire into an empty site for Israeli snipers in the southern Gaza Strip.
The shooting and chase of the young men by the Israeli forces resulted in the death of one of them and the injury of another who was arrested along with the third young man. The killed was identified as Khalid Samir Shehdah Abdul ‘Aal (18) and the wounded civilian is Mohammed Ehsan ‘Oudah al-Natour (21), who was wounded to the abdomen and the lower limbs. Mohammed’s health condition is stable and he is under arrest along with Wasim Omer Mousa Abu Jazar (18), all of them from Rafah.
These 3 young men’s families received these information from the Palestinian Ministry of Civil Affairs (Palestinian Civil Liaison) on Tuesday afternoon, 03 July 2018, without explaining the fate of the young man’s dead body.

- In an excessive use of lethal force, Israeli forces killed a Palestinian and wounded 2 others, including a child, in the evening while they attempted to sneak into the border fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel in the southern Gaza Strip and return to the Gaza Strip. The Israeli forces could have used less deadly force and arrested the civilians as they were unarmed and did not pose any danger to the soldiers’ lives.
