The Israeli occupation navy on Saturday morning opened machinegun fire at Palestinian fishing boats off the shore of Beit Lahiya district, north of the Gaza Strip, with no reported casualties.
Chief of the Palestinian fishermen syndicate Nazar Ayash told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that Israeli gunboats chased fishing boats and opened fire at them inside Gaza waters, with no reason.
Ayash affirmed that such gunfire attacks happen almost on a daily basis off the coast of Gaza and prevent fishermen of earning their livelihood to support their families.
He appealed to human rights groups to intervene and work on protecting the Gazan fishermen against Israel's violations.

Israeli soldiers killed, on Friday evening, two Palestinians in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, and in Silwad town, northeast of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.
Medical sources in Ramallah said the soldiers killed Mohammad Abdul-Rahman Ayyad, 21, near the main entrance of Silwad town, northeast of Ramallah.
According to the Israeli army, Ayyad "attempted to ram soldiers with his car before they shot him," and that no soldiers were hurt in the reported incident.
It claimed that "the young man sped towards the soldiers, but they hid behind concrete blocks, before the car crashed into blocks."
The soldiers fired several live rounds on the Palestinian, after his car crashed, and left the wounded young man to bleed to death, before an Israeli ambulance arrived at the scene, and took him to an unknown destination.
In the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Health Ministry said the soldiers shot and killed Mahmoud Mohammad al-'Agha, 20, during clashes that took place, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the besieged coastal enclave.
It is worth mentioning that Mahmoud is the brother of Bassem al-Agha, who was killed during Israel’s war on the Palestinians in Gaza, in the summer of 2014, leading to the death of more than 2142 Palestinians, including 578 children, 264 women, and 103 elderly, while more than 11100, including 3374 children, 2088 women and 410 elderly, have been injured.
The Ministry added that the soldiers also shot and injured 40 Palestinians, in the Gaza Strip, on Friday; 31 of them with live rounds, and the rest with rubber-coated steel bullets, while dozens suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.
The Israeli army killed 127 Palestinians, including 25 children and six women, since October 1, while around 14.740 have been injured, including at least 4698 with live fire and rubber-coated steel bullets.
Twenty of the slain Palestinians were killed in the Gaza Strip, one in the Negev, and the rest in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem.
The army also shot and injured 333 children with live rounds, and 149 with rubber-coated steel bullets, while 53 children suffered fractures and bruises after the soldiers and settlers assaulted them, and eighty others suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation, including some who were shot with gas bombs.
The Health Ministry said 1660 Palestinians were shot with live rounds, 1040 with rubber-coated steel bullets, and were all moved to hospitals, while Palestinian medics provided around 2000 persons with the needed treatment after the soldiers shot them with rubber-coated steel bullets.
Approximately 9650 Palestinians suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation, 350 suffered fractures and bruises after being attacked by Israeli soldiers and settlers, and 40 others suffered burns due to gas bombs and concussion grenades.

Israeli occupation forces launched on early Friday morning a limited incursion into eastern al-Qarara town, in southern blockaded Gaza Strip, in the second operation of its kind within the past 48 hours.
Local sources said four Israeli bulldozers deployed at the Sreij military site moved into eastern al-Qarara, to the northeast of Khan Younis, in southern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli bulldozers leveled the area at the same time as warplanes kept hovering over the territory.
Sounds of barrages of gunfire unleashed from Israeli watchtowers were also detected all the way through the incursion.
A couple of days ago, three Palestinian farmers were left wounded in an Israeli shelling on eastern Khan Younis city.
Such attacks by the occupation army are another chain in the series of Israeli violations of the Cairo-brokered ceasefire accord signed with Palestinian resistance factions in the wake of the 2014 offensive on the besieged coastal enclave.

The Israeli occupation army last night backtracked on its first claim about the fall of a Palestinian rocket in an Israeli area and affirmed it had landed inside the Gaza Strip near its northern border.
Spokesman for the army Avichay Adraee said that after combing the area of the reported attack, authorities found that the rocket that triggered alert sirens exploded in a border area inside Gaza.
Earlier, the Hebrew media claimed a projectile fired on Thursday evening from Gaza exploded in an open field near Sha'ar HaNegev settlements, northeast of Gaza.
In a separate incident, the Israeli occupation forces detained on the same day two Palestinian young men after they crossed the security fence north of Gaza.
The detainees, who were unarmed, were transferred to a Shin Bet interrogation center, according to the Hebrew website Walla.

A rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip on Thursday, landing in an open area in southern Israel, according to the Israeli army.
An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an News Agency that sirens sounded in areas of southern Israel after the rocket was launched from the strip.
No damage or injuries were reported, as is typical of such rocket attacks. (Palestinian resistance rockets are, most often, little more than hollow tubes stuffed full of dynamite and contain no guidance system.) Israeli forces were searching the area following the strike.
The Israeli air force has carried out at least two air strikes in December so far, both in response to rocket fire from the besieged enclave.
Sporadic rocket fire has come from the Gaza Strip this year and has been met with retaliatory Israeli attacks, with the military making at least 50 incursions into the enclave since the start of 2015, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
In October, a 2-year-old Palestinian and her pregnant mother were killed in an Israeli air strike on their home.
About four Palestinians have been injured by Israeli artillery shelling in the Gaza Strip, on Wednesday night; one injury has been reported as critical, according to the PNN.
The troops on the eastern borders of the strip have reportedly opened fire on the homes of citizens in Khan Younis, leading to four injuries, one of them serious.
On Tuesday morning forces opened fire on farmers in Deir al-Balah city, central Gaza, with no injuries reported.
Last Wednesday, Israeli tanks and bulldozers have carried a limited invasion into Al-Breij refugee camp, also in central Gaza, in the midst of continuous gunfire.
According to locals, three tanks and three bulldozers have gone 150 meters into farmland of the strip, and started bulldozing land in midst of random gunfire.
Many residents have reported such attacks on their farms and homes in Gaza, where tanks invade and bulldoze land, and soldiers open fire in the area, terrorizing residents and forcing them to flee.

A 14-year-old boy was shot by two live bullets in his leg after Israeli forces stationed at the border fence opened heavy fire at a group of Palestinian youths east of al-Bureij refugee camp.
The boy was immediately taken to hospital for treatment after suffering moderate injuries, local youths affirmed.
In the West Bank, a 12-year-old child was shot and injured as clashes erupted in Salem town, east of Nablus.
The clashes broke out as IOF soldiers brutally stormed the town amid heavy fire of tear gas bombs and live rounds.
A PIC reporter quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the injured child suffered gunshot injuries in his leg.
The wounded child was first arrested by Israeli forces before being handed over to PA liaison officers who took him later to hospital for treatment.
Three young men were also arrested during the confrontations.

Palestinian fishermen and farmers whose work brings them near the border areas of the besieged coastal enclave frequently come under fire from Israeli forces.
Israeli soldiers on Dec. 13 shot and injured a Palestinian farmer east of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.
A “security buffer zone” is imposed by Israel on both land and seaside borders of the Gaza Strip, and the Israeli army often reports that Israeli forces open fire in such cases due to a “threat to security.” Israeli forces have in the past been criticized for interfering with Palestinians who have not breached the buffer zone, with such interference posing a major threat to the livelihood and well-being of Palestinian workers.

Israeli forces on Sunday shot and injured a Palestinian farmer east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, locals and medics said.
Locals told Ma’an that Israeli soldiers stationed on the Israeli side of the border fence near the Kerem Shalom military post opened fire at Palestinian farmers working on their land at the time, hitting a farmer in his twenties.
Medics at Abu Yousif al-Najjar hospital said that the victim had been treated for wounds in his left leg.
An Israeli army spokesperson did not have immediate information on the incident.
Israeli forces regularly open fire on Palestinian farmers as well as fishermen whose work takes them close to a “security buffer zone” imposed by Israel on both land and seaside borders of the besieged enclave.
Ninety-five percent of Gaza's arable land lies along the zone that is routinely restricted to Palestinians in the strip, making it impossible for many farmers to access their land without serious risk, according to the Palestinian Center for Human Rights.
On Friday, Israeli soldiers shot and killed a 41-year-old Palestinian and injured at least 58 with live fire during a demonstration near the border fence.

After shooting to death a leftist leader at a protest on Friday, Israeli forces again invaded Gaza Saturday to attack the man's funeral in the town of Dir al-Balah.
41-year-old Sami Shawqi Madhi was a leader for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a left wing political party that works for labor rights and against the excesses of capitalism. Israel and the U.S. both consider the PFLP to be a terrorist group, for their role in several attacks against Israelis in the 1990s. In the past decade, the group has employed a non-violent strategy in their struggle against the Israeli military occupation.
On Saturday, hundreds of people turned out for the funeral of the slain leftist leader. Israeli troops invaded the Strip with armored vehicles and began firing at mourners. Some young men among the mourners began throwing stones at the invading forces, according to local sources.
The demonstration on Friday at which Madhi was killed had been organized in solidarity with the family of a Palestinian teenager who was killed earlier in the week in Bethlehem by an exploding bullet fired at his head by Israeli troops during a demonstration.
The teen had been a member of the leftist PFLP political party.
Madhi was the 19th Palestinian killed by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip since October 1st. A total of 119 Palestinians and 18 Israelis have been killed in Jerusalem and the West Bank since October 1st.

One Palestinian was killed and at least 35 others suffered bullet injuries on Friday evening when Israeli border soldiers opened fire intensively at their protests east of the Gaza Strip.
A spokesman for the health ministry said that 38-year-old Sami Madi died of injuries he sustained during clashes with Israeli soldiers to the east of al-Bureij refugee camp.
The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reporter in Gaza said that Madi suffered a serious bullet injury in his chest and was rushed to Shuhadaa al-Aqsa hospital, where he was officially proclaimed dead.
Medical and security sources told the PIC that Israeli soldiers at the perimeter fence to the east of al-Bureij camp fired a volley of bullets at dozens of young protesters, which led at first to the injury of 12-year-old Abdul-Rahman al-Khaledi and 20-year-old Mohamed Obeid.
Consequently, the events turned more violent and other young men started to suffer bullet and tear gas injuries, they added.
Many others were also wounded during clashes with soldiers east of Khan Younis and al-Shujaiya neighborhood as well as near Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing.

Israeli news sources on Wednesday evening said a rocket was accidentally slammed by the Iron Dome rocket-defense system into the vicinity of the blockaded Gaza Strip.
The Israeli news outlets denied reports on a missile fired from Gaza Strip into the surrounding Israeli settlements.
They attributed the echoes of an explosion detected in the area to a rocket accidentally launched by Israel’s Iron Dome.
The occupation sources said the rocket is the outcome of a mistake whose cause has not yet been identified.
Israeli settlers residing in adjacent illegal outposts complained about an explosion rocking Sderot, to the east of the blockaded Gaza Strip.
An observer said the alleged mistake is a proof of Israel’s lack of concern for the lives of thousands of civilians residing in nearby territories.
“What the Israeli occupation claimed to be an innocent mistake does not only stand as a proof for its inherently reckless war machine but is also one that could have taken away the lives of hundreds of innocent children and women,” she added.
