Two Children Killed in Assassination Attempt
On Monday, 10 December 2001, Israeli occupation forces killed two children and injured 14 people while attempting to assassinate an activist of the Islamic Jihad in Hebron.
According to investigation carried out by LAW – the Palestinian Society for the Protection of Human Rights and the Environment, at approximately 14:20, two Israeli Apache gunships fired two missiles at a group of civilian cars stopped at a traffic light in the northwest of Hebron, apparently targeting Mohammed Ayoub Seder, an activist of the Islamic Jihad who is wanted by Israeli occupation forces.
Two children, Burhan Mohammed Ibrahim El-Haimouni, 3, and Shadi Ahmed ‘Abdel-Mu’ti ‘Arafeh, 13, were killed and 14 people were injured. Seder survived.
In addition, three civilian cars were totally destroyed, and three other cars, nine stores, and three houses were severely damaged.

Early in the morning, Israeli occupation forces killed four Palestinian policemen in ‘Anabta village near Tulkarm.
At approximately 02:00, six Palestinian policemen were sitting in a dormitory at ‘Anabta police station. Israeli occupation forces in the vicinity of “Enab” settlement, approximately 1km north of the police station, opened fire on the area. When the policemen recognized the source of fire, they left the station in two cars.
As soon as they moved, they were fired upon. They discovered that around 20 Israeli occupation soldiers moved into the village and arrived at the police station. They besieged the two cars and fired at the policemen from a distance of only 5m. Four policemen, residents of Beit Lid village in Tulkarm, were killed:
1) Munif Helmi Hamada, 26, killed by several live bullets in the head and the chest;
2) Ahmed Samih El-Kou’, 23, killed by several live bullets in the head;
3) Sa’id ‘Abdullah Dureidi, 25, killed by several live bullets in the head; and
4) ‘Adnan Suleiman Jom’a, 28, killed by several live bullets in various parts of the body.
In addition, two policemen were wounded:
1) Nizar Tawfiq Salem, 30, from Bazaria village in Tulkarm, wounded by a live bullet in the pelvis;
2) ‘Alla’ Shaker Suleiman, 25, from Bal’a village in Tulkarm, wounded by a live bullet in the left thigh.
At approximately 14:30, a number of Palestinian young men demonstrated in Bitounia, which was reoccupied by Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday, 4 December 2001.

At approximately 02:20, Israeli occupation forces moved into Ramin village, east of Tulkarm, under the full control of the Palestinian National Authority. They raided some houses and fired at other houses.
Two Palestinian civilians, Zayed Sami Salman, 28, and Zeid Ibrahim Ibseissi, 25, were wounded. The Israeli forces arrested the two and took them to an unknown destination. They also arrested 14 villagers.
In the morning, Subhi Jamil Rateb Abu Mu’nes, 36, from ‘Arrabeh village, south of Jenin, was killed by two medium caliber bullets in the neck and the heart fired by an Israeli tank positioned in Al-Sweitat area in the east of Jenin.

Eight passengers were traveling in his car. As the main road between the two areas was blocked, the driver traveled through a branch road. When he was about to enter Jenin through Al-Sweitat area, an Israeli tank fired at the car.
The driver was killed by two medium caliber bullets. No casualties were reported among the passengers.
At approximately 11:00, Israeli occupation forces at the Egyptian border, south of Rafah, opened fire on Block “O” area in Rafah refugee camp.
‘Abdullah Na’im Zo’rob, 30, was injured by shrapnel in the head while he was near his house.

At approximately 17:30, Israeli occupation soldiers, positioned in a military location, west of Al-Amal neighborhood in the west of Khan Yunis, fired at Palestinian houses in the neighborhood for no apparent reason.
Khaled Ahmed El-Faqa’awi, 20, was wounded by a live bullet in the right leg.
In the evening, Israeli occupation soldiers in the vicinity of Qalandya Airport fired a rubber-coated metal bullet from very close distance at 11-year-old Yasser Sami El-Kusbeh, from Qalandya refugee camp, seriously wounding him in the head.
PCHR was informed that the child was trying to escape with his friends after they had thrown stones towards Israeli soldiers, but he fell into a deep hole.
An Israeli soldier moved closer to him and fired a rubber-coated metal bullet at his head from close range.
At approximately 01:00, Israeli combat helicopters hit the headquarters of the Palestinian Military Intelligence in Rafah. According to PCHR’s investigation, the helicopters fired 5 rockets at the building, severely damaging it.
The electricity network was severely damaged and electricity was cut off. No casualties were reported, as the building had been evacuated in advance.
At approximately 18:30, six Israeli armoured personnel carriers thrust approximately 500m into three neighborhoods in the north of Rafah, Musabbeh, ‘Oreibeh and Morag, near “Morag” settlement.
They destroyed three sites of the Palestinian National Security Forces.
In the evening, Khalil ‘Abdel-Fattah Abu Shawish, 24, from Rafah, was pronounced dead. He was critically wounded by shrapnel throughout the body on 4 December 2001 when Israeli occupation forces at the Egyptian border shelled Rafah refugee camp.
At approximately 20:00, Israeli occupation forces at the Egyptian border, south of Rafah, shelled Block “O” area in Rafah refugee camp.

At approximately 14:00, a number of Palestinian children and young men demonstrated opposite to the entrance of Qalandya refugee camp, on the Jerusalem-Ramallah road. They threw stones at Israeli occupation forces in the vicinity of Qalandya Airport. Israeli soldiers fired live and rubber-coated metal bullets at the demonstrators, wounding three:
1) Tha’er ‘Abdel-Hadi Mayala, 21, from Qalandya refugee camp, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the head;
2) Mohammed Salim Hamad, 14, from Qalandya refugee camp, wounded by shrapnel from a live bullet in the left leg; and
3) Zayed Khalil El-Kasawani, 13, from Bitounia, wounded by a live bullet in the left leg.
In the afternoon, an undercover unit of Israeli occupation forces killed two Palestinian men from Deir Ghassana village, northwest of Ramallah, who were in an area between their village and Kufor Al-Dik village. The two victims are:
1) Lu’ai Salim Mas’hal, 24, killed by a live bullet in the head and several bullets throughout the body; and
2) ‘Aayed ‘Abboud Mas’hal, 20, killed by a live bullet in the head and several bullets throughout the body.
According to information obtained by LAW, at approximately 16:50, news spread through Deir Ghassana village, which is under full control of the Palestinian National Authority, that undercover units of Israeli occupation forces were surrounding the village in order to invade it. The villagers were informed that two suspicious objects were found in Al-Qula’ area between Deir Ghassana and Kufor Al-Dik villages.
A number of young men, including Lu’ai and ‘Aayed, went to the area. ‘Aayed was armed. When they arrived at the area, they saw a wire, which they followed. At the end of the wire, there was a bomb. The two young men asked the others to move away from the area.
The armed man fired at the bomb to explode it. Immediately, Israeli undercover soldiers, who were hiding in the area, opened fire on the two men.
Later, the villagers started searching for the two young men as they had not returned. At approximately 20:00, a police station in Beit Rima received a phone call by the head of Palestinian liaison in Salfit, in which he was informed that the Israeli forces were keeping the bodies of two young men. An hour later, as the Israeli side did not hand over the bodies of the two victims, the villagers searched for them again and in the end they found them.
At approximately 19:00, Israeli occupation soldiers in a military jeep that was raiding Ya’bad village near Jenin fired at Nemer Zayed El-Kilani, 22, wounding him with a live bullet in the left leg, for no apparent reason.
The Israeli soldiers denied access of an ambulance to the village, so a physician came to the village to treat him.
At approximately 01:00, a special unit of Israeli occupation forces, reinforced with three tanks, moved approximately 800m into ‘Abasan village in Khan Yunis. They besieged the house of ‘Abed-Rabbu Barakat Abu Daqqa to arrest his son ‘Essam, 35, an employee at the Palestinian Ministry of Local Government. They did not find him at the house, so they searched the house and evacuated its residents.
They confiscated some books and cassettes that belonged to ‘Essam. Then, they arrested his brother Hatem, 29, a journalist at the Palestinian News Agency (Wafa). In his affidavit to PCHR, Hatem said that he was severely beaten by Israeli soldiers whose faces were colored and others who were in civilian clothes.
They forced him to take his clothes off for some minutes. Then, they took him to a military location near the border, east of Al-Qarara, handcuffed. He was interrogated for 4 hours about his brother ‘Essam. After they had severely beaten him, they took him to Al-Matahen junction, north of Khan Yunis, where he was handed over to the Palestinian side.
During the raid, Israeli soldiers severely beat ‘Abdel-Hai Ibrahim Abu Daqqa, 57.
At approximately 01:45, an infantry unit of Israeli occupation forces, comprised of about 100 soldiers, thrust 700m into Al-Satar Al-Gharbi area in the northwest of Khan Yunis. They besieged three houses of El-Astal family.
They forced the families to get out of the houses. They searched the houses. Two hours later, they withdrew after they had arrested Ahmed Mohammed El-Astal, 32, a member of the Palestinian Military Intelligence.
At approximately 03:00, Israeli F-16 fighter jets fired two missiles at the headquarters of the directorate of Palestinian police in Gaza. A 500-square-meter, three-story administrative building was totally destroyed, and a 500-square-meter, three-story dormitory was partially destroyed.
Some civilian facilities, such as the campus of Al-Azhar University, Palestine Bank and some schools were severely damaged. In addition, 20 Palestinians were slightly injured.
At approximately 03:20, a unit of Israeli occupation forces, comprised of approximately 100 soldiers, moved into Jalqamous village, east of Jenin. They raided the house of Yousef Taher El-Qerem, 27. They broke its windows and bedrooms and fired 3 live bullets inside it.
Then, they arrested the mentioned man and his brother Mohammed, 26, and took then to an unknown destination. Then, they destroyed an under-construction house owned by Mohammed.

At noon, Israeli occupation forces moved from “Dogit” settlement, west of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip, more than 1km towards the south. They opened fire from heavy and medium machine guns.
An officer of the Palestinian Marine Police, Taj El-Din Rajab El-Masri, 29, from Beit Lahia, was killed, another one was wounded and a third one was arrested.
In his affidavit to PCHR, the wounded man, ‘Abdel-Rahman Mubarak Bureik, 26, from Jabalya, said:
At 12:15, two Israeli tanks moved towards a site of the Palestinian Marine Police, around 1km away from “Dogit” settlement. I was with some of my mates on duty. I saw one of the tanks moving towards us. When it was 400m away from the site, we started slowly moving back. When the tank was around 300m away from us, I saw about 5 persons in civilian clothes and armed with M16s getting out of the tank.
Soon, I heard sounds of intense shooting of live bullets in the area. We tried to move back, but Taj El-Din El-Masri was slow, so the distance between him and the Israeli soldiers was only 25m. We escaped towards the south. Suddenly, I felt that something hit me in the back and the left leg. I fell onto the ground and crept. One of my mates called for an ambulance. At hospital, I came to know that I was wounded by two live bullets in the back and the left leg.
According to Palestinian sources, El-Masri’s body was handed over to the Palestinian side in the evening. The body was then transferred to hospital, where medical sources stated that El-Masri received several live bullets in the head, the abdomen, the back and the right forearm.
A Palestinian Civilian Dies at an Israeli Military Roadblock Due to Obstructed Access to Hospital
Mohammed Mahoud Abu Dayeh, 46, from Al-Zhahereya village, southwest of Hebron, died while on his way from his work in Abu Dis to his village.
PCHR was informed that at approximately 08:00 Abu Dayeh moved from Abu Dis to his village through Wadi Al-Nar road and sand roads in the east of Bethlehem. At approximately 14:30, when he arrived at an Israeli military roadblock near Sa’ir village, he was extremely tired as he walked very long distances.
He asked Israeli soldiers at the roadblock to allow him to stay in the car because he suffered from problems in the heart, but they refused. They forced him to walk. He fainted while walking.
An ambulance was called for, but the Israeli soldiers denied its passage. A number of people helped the medical personnel in the evacuation of Abu Dayeh to the ambulance on the other side of the roadblock. Abu Dayeh was dead when he was brought to hospital. According to medical sources, Abu Dayeh suffered from a heart attack.

Mohammed Mahoud Abu Dayeh, 46, from Al-Zhahereya village, southwest of Hebron, died while on his way from his work in Abu Dis to his village.
PCHR was informed that at approximately 08:00 Abu Dayeh moved from Abu Dis to his village through Wadi Al-Nar road and sand roads in the east of Bethlehem. At approximately 14:30, when he arrived at an Israeli military roadblock near Sa’ir village, he was extremely tired as he walked very long distances.
He asked Israeli soldiers at the roadblock to allow him to stay in the car because he suffered from problems in the heart, but they refused. They forced him to walk. He fainted while walking.
An ambulance was called for, but the Israeli soldiers denied its passage. A number of people helped the medical personnel in the evacuation of Abu Dayeh to the ambulance on the other side of the roadblock. Abu Dayeh was dead when he was brought to hospital. According to medical sources, Abu Dayeh suffered from a heart attack.

At approximately 11:00, Israeli occupation forces, positioned at the Egyptian border, south of Rafah, fired at a number of Palestinian children who were hunting birds in Tal Al-Sultan neighborhood in the west of the city.
Ayman ‘Abdel-Fattah El-Soufi, 14, was wounded by shrapnel in the left arm. Israeli soldiers chased the children into Palestinian control areas and arrested the wounded child. They released him one hour later.
At approximately 22:00, Saqer Ahmed Hammad El-Debari, 21, from Rafah, was pronounced dead from a previous wound he received in the head from Israeli occupation forces on 28 November.
On that day, Israeli occupation forces at the border, east of Rafah fired at El-Debari and another young man, Salman Mansour El-Duheini, 27, also from Rafah, who apparently were attempting to sneak into Israel. El-Debari was seriously wounded by a live bullet in the head and El-Duheini was wounded by two live bullets in the legs. The two young men were unarmed and did not pose any threat to the lives of Israeli soldiers.
At approximately 04:30, an Israeli tank thrust approximately 500m into the northeast of Rafah. It partially demolished a Palestinian house, in which 10 people live, owned by Zayed Mohammed Abu Rezeq.
The electricity and water networks of the area were damaged.
At approximately 14:00, Tariq Khaled As’ad Fashasha, 20, from Jaba’ village, south of Jenin, was wounded in the left leg by a medium caliber bullet fired by an Israeli tank. He was on his way to his bother’s house when he was fired at.
At approximately 17:10, Yousef ‘Abdel-Rahim Abu Hassan, 25, from Jenin, was wounded in the face by shrapnel from a heavy caliber bullet fired by an Israeli tank. He was at a window of his house when an Israeli tank opened fire on Palestinian houses.
At approximately 21:30, Israeli occupation forces, positioned in the vicinity of “Neve Dekalim” settlement and Al-Tuffah checkpoint, west of Khan Yunis, fired artillery shells and heavy and medium caliber bullets at Palestinian houses in Khan Yunis refugee camp.
The shelling continued up to 01:00 on the following day, during which a number of houses were damaged and 3 Palestinian civilians were wounded:

At approximately 14:00, a number of Palestinian children demonstrated near Qalandya Airport. They threw stones towards Israeli occupation forces in the area. The Israeli forces fired tear gas and rubber-coated metal bullets at the children, wounding two:
1) Younis ‘Abdel-Rahman El-Khatib, 14, from Qalandya refugee camp, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the nose; and
2) Rami Hussein El-Khawaja, 16, from Bitounia, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the left hand.
At approximately 20:10, Israeli soldiers in a military jeep fired at a Palestinian civilian car that was traveling towards Yatta village in Hebron. The car turned over and two passengers were injured:
1) Sa’id ‘Eid Ghannam, 25, injured in the face; and
2) Bajis Mohammed Ghannam, 40, injured in the chest and the limbs.
Israeli soldiers also arrested a third passenger, Ismail Khalil Zein, 22, and took him to an unknown destination.
Early in the morning, eight armored personnel carriers and two bulldozers of Israeli occupation forces moved into Gaza International Airport in the southeast of Rafah. According to PCHR’s investigation, the Israeli forces entered the airport from Al-Dehneya gate in the southeast of the airport, adjacent to a military location of Israeli occupation forces. The bulldozers destroyed parts of the runway.
They dug 17 holes, 50-100cm deep, around 100m away from one another. It is now impossible for any plane to land on the airport. The airport has been closed since 5 February 2001.
At approximately 01:25, a number of Israeli tanks and armored personnel carriers thrust approximately 200m into areas under full control of the Palestinian National Authority in Nablus. They took position on Al-Makhfia Street leading to Tel village. A number of Palestinian gunmen confronted the incursion.
The Israeli forces opened fire on them, killing Amjad ‘Abdel-Rahim El-Tubassi, 26, with a medium caliber bullet in the head.
In the meanwhile, a tank and bulldozer of Israeli occupation forces moved into the north of Al-Bireh. Thirty minutes later, eight tanks, two armored personnel carriers and two bulldozers moved into Ramallah- Bir Zeit and Al-Irsal Streets in the city. A number of Israeli soldiers took position on the roof of the Palestinian Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.
The bulldozers razed a tract of land and dug trenches where tanks took position. At approximately 03:30, a number of Israeli military jeeps moved into Al-Irslal and Al-Balou’ areas and imposed a curfew.
At approximately 05:00, a number of Israeli military jeeps moved from “Ofar” military location into Bitounia. They occupied the cemetery of the town and shelled nearby Palestinian houses.
At approximately 07:15, an Israeli tank fired two artillery shells at a Palestinian house, owned by Walid Hassan El-Sharif, in Ramallah. Five members of the family were wounded by shrapnel:
1) Walid Hassan El-Sharif, 38;
2) Ussama Walid Hassan El-Sharif, 11;
3) Fida’ Walid Hassan El-Sharif, 10;
4) Shadi Walid Hassan El-Sharif, 6; and
5) Khuloud Walid Hassan El-Sharif, 30.
At approximately 11:00, an Israeli combat helicopter fired three rockets at the headquarters of Palestinian Military Intelligence in Salfit, causing severe damage. A nearby building that includes a number of offices was also damaged.
At the same time, another Israeli combat helicopter fired two rockets at a site of the Palestinian National Security Forces in Wadi Al-Matwi area, west of Salfit, totally destroying it.
In the meanwhile, Israeli combat helicopters attacked targets in Rmallah. Two combat helicopters shelled the offices of the Palestinian Ministry of Interior. Two rockets hit the offices, completely destroying them and a car. A number of nearby official offices were damaged.
Then, the helicopters shelled a site of the Palestinian President’s Guard (Force 17), completely destroying it.
At approximately 11:20, two Israeli combat helicopters fired 6 rockets at a Palestinian police station, completely destroying it. They also fired 6 rockets at a site of Force 17, partially destroying it.
At the same time, Israeli combat helicopters fired two rockets at a building of the Palestinian Preventive Security in Khan Yunis, severely damaging it. They also fired two rockets at a site of the Palestinian National Security Forces, partially destroying it.
At approximately 12:00, two Israeli F-16 fighter jets fired two rockets at the offices of the Palestinian Preventive Security in Al-Nasser neighborhood in Gaza City, completely destroying it.
A passing school child, Mohammed Mahmoud Ibrahim Abu Marasa, 15, from Al-Shati refugee camp, was killed by shrapnel throughout the body, and a civilian employee in the offices, Mohammed Ahmed Mahmoud Siam, 23, from Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, was killed by shrapnel in the abdomen.
A number of nearby houses were also severely damaged and civilians were extremely terrified. Dozens of civilians, mostly children, were injured.
At the same time, Israeli combat helicopters shelled civilian and security facilities near the office of the Palestinian President and Ansar Compound in Gaza City. A three-story building of Force 17 was completely destroyed, a park of cars of the Palestinian President was severely damaged and a number of cars were destroyed, and an office of the Palestinian National Security Forces was damaged.
At approximately 13:10, Israeli F-16 fighter jets shelled a site of Force 17 in Al-Towam area in the northern Gaza Strip. The site, which was shelled more than once in the past year, was severely damaged.
A number of nearby houses were also severely damaged.

A Palestinian Infant Dies at an Israeli Military Roadblock Due to the Obstructed Access to Hospital

At approximately 04:00, Yahia Mohammed Ahmed Abu ‘Aabed, 30, mentally handicapped, from Qabatya village in Jenin, was killed by Israeli occupation soldiers.
According to an investigation carried out by the Palestinian Society for the Protection of Human Rights and the Environment (LAW), the victim was walking on Qabatya-Jenin road near his village, when an Israeli armored personnel carrier, positioned in the south of Jenin, fired at him with a medium machine gun.
He was killed by two bullets in the back and the chest. The Israeli forces denied residents access to the village, the victim’s family, the ICRC and ambulances of the Palestine Red Crescent Society to the area. Four hours later, the Israeli forces forced the victim’s family to take his body to the village and bury him without funeral ceremonies.
At approximately 16:30, Israeli combat helicopters and gunboats attacked civilian facilities between the Guest House and the office of the Palestinian President in Gaza City. The Israeli combat helicopters fired 8 rockets at the heliport tarmac.
The runway, two helicopters, a number of offices and a number of guardrooms were totally destroyed. Additionally, a number of nearby houses were damaged and a number of civilians suffered from nervous shock.
At approximately 18:45, an Israeli F-16 fighter jet fired an air-to-surface missile at a PNA building in Jenin. The building was completely destroyed. The building included offices of the Preventive Security, the General Intelligence Service, and police.
At 06:58, two Israeli fighter jets shelled the headquarters of Jenin Governorate, and office of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat and offices of Ministry of Interior, which were located in one building in Al-Zahra neighborhood in Jenin.
The building was completely destroyed.
Additionally, Jenin Hospital, approximately 700 north of the building was damaged.
An infant, Maimouna Bani ‘Oudeh was injured by shrapnel from shattered glass of windows.
Two Palestinians Killed in Mysterious Circumstances
At approximately 19:00 on Monday, a heavy blast occurred at the center of Bethlehem. A bomb exploded inside a flat on the 4th floor of a housing building in Al-Safat Street in the southeast of the city.
Two Palestinians, Ra’fat Ibrahim Bajali, 25, from Za’tara village and resident of Bethlehem, a member of the Palestinian General Intelligence Service, and Nidhal ‘Abdel-Karim Sandouqa, 24, from Bethlehem, a member of Force 17, were critically injured. They died later at hospital.
Bajali and Sandouqa were known as activists of Fatah Movement and were wanted by Israeli occupation forces. Palestinian security sources accused agents of Israeli security services of planting a bomb in the flat and destroying it by remote control, targeting the two young men.

At approximately 10:00, Israeli occupation soldiers in a tank, positioned in Hursh Sa’ada in the east of Jenin, fired at 28-year-old Ahmed Sabri Shalabi, from Wadi Burqin village, wounding him with two live bullets in the back and the left shoulder.
Shalabi was farming his agricultural land, which is around 400m away from the tank, when he was fired at for no apparent reason.
At approximately 13:10, an Israeli guard at the Israeli Haboalim Bank at Al-Zahra Street in Jerusalem fired at Mazen Ahmed El-Nabulsi, 31, from Jerusalem, killing him with a live bullet in the neck.
El-Nabulsi had been left bleeding for 10 minutes before he was evacuated to hospital in a civilian car as no ambulance came to offer him help. According to an eyewitness, El-Nabulsi was trying to enter the bank to put money into his account.
He was carrying a check in his hand. He tried to talk with the employees of the bank through his mobile phone, but the employees did not answer his call and let the guard deal with him. The bank did not declare that it would close earlier that day.
El-Nabulsi asked the guard several times to allow him to enter the bank, but the guard rejected this. El-Nabulsi knocked on the door again to draw the attention.

Shalabi was farming his agricultural land, which is around 400m away from the tank, when he was fired at for no apparent reason.
At approximately 13:10, an Israeli guard at the Israeli Haboalim Bank at Al-Zahra Street in Jerusalem fired at Mazen Ahmed El-Nabulsi, 31, from Jerusalem, killing him with a live bullet in the neck.
El-Nabulsi had been left bleeding for 10 minutes before he was evacuated to hospital in a civilian car as no ambulance came to offer him help. According to an eyewitness, El-Nabulsi was trying to enter the bank to put money into his account.
He was carrying a check in his hand. He tried to talk with the employees of the bank through his mobile phone, but the employees did not answer his call and let the guard deal with him. The bank did not declare that it would close earlier that day.
El-Nabulsi asked the guard several times to allow him to enter the bank, but the guard rejected this. El-Nabulsi knocked on the door again to draw the attention.

They imposed a siege on the buildings of the municipality and the Palestinian General Intelligence Service and a police station.
They arrested two member of the General Intelligence Service. The incursion lasted for around 150 minutes. In the end, the detainees were released upon the intervention of the Palestinian liaison forces.

A number of children moved forwards and threw stones towards Israeli soldiers, who opened fire. Four children were wounded:

In yet another incident of shooting at Palestinian civilians at military roadblocks, Israeli occupation soldiers at Al-Hamra roadblock in the northern Jordan Valley fired at a number of Palestinian civilian cars that were waiting at the roadblock to pass. Two Palestinian civilians were killed.
According to an investigation carried out by the Palestinian Society for the Protection of Human Rights and the Environment (LAW), at approximately 14:30, a number of Palestinian civilians were in line at a military roadblock of Israeli occupation forces in Al-Hamra area in the northern Jordan Valley. When the driver of one of these cars moved forward and tried to persuade Israeli soldiers to allow those cars to pass, Israeli soldiers asked him to drive his car back.
As soon as he turned the car around, the soldiers fired at the car. It flipped over and the driver was killed. He was later identified as Hassan Tayseer Zubeidi, 24, from Balata refugee camp near Nablus. He received 8 live bullets throughout the body. Israeli soldiers continued to fire at Palestinian cars, killing Rashad ‘Abdel-Rahman Saleh Hejja, 37, from ‘Attil village near Tulkarm, with a live bullet in the head.
Hejja was killed when he was inside a taxi coming back to his village from Jordan. The bodies of the two victims were evacuated to Jenin Hospital.

At approximately 13:00, Israeli occupation forces, positioned in a military location near Beit Hanoun (Erez) Crossing in the northern Gaza Strip, intensively fired at the northwest of Beit Hanoun.
Khaled ‘Adnan El-Kafarna, 18, was wounded by a live bullet in the testicles. According to El-Kafarna, he was wounded when he was approximately 700m away from the Israeli military location.
At approximately 22:00, an Israeli military location at Al-Shuhada’, south of Gaza City, junction intensively opened fire.
At approximately midnight, Israeli occupation forces handed the body of Rami Mohammed Mansour, 23, from Al-Shojaeya neighborhood in Gaza, to the Palestinian side. According to medical sources at Shifa’ Hospital in Gaza, Mansour received four live bullets in the abdomen, the pelvis and the left thigh and leg.
According to PCHR’s investigations, Mansour was civilian and had no political activities. The reason for his presence in that area has not been known. However, Israeli occupation forces in the mentioned location fire at anyone may get close to the area, without resorting to less lethal means.

They raided a house of El-Sa’id family. They kidnapped five members of the family and took them to “Keriat Araba” settlement, east of the city. The five had been detained for hours, before four of them were released. The fifth, Ussama Mohammed El-Sa’id, 24, was kept in custody.
At approximately 08:00, two Israeli tanks thrust approximately 1,000m into Salah El-Din Street – the road between the north and south of the Gaza Strip – south of Gaza City.
They fired heavy and medium caliber bullets to cover the incursion. Approximately half an hour later, the two tanks withdrew towards Al-Shuhada junction where they originally came from. The area was completely quiet when the incursion took place.

Kifah Khaled Mahmoud ‘Obeid, 13, from Al-Duheisha refugee camp, was critically wounded by two live bullets in the chest and the abdomen. Efforts made at hospital to save his life failed.
At approximately 14:30, Israeli occupation forces, positioned in an observation tower at a military roadblock on Salah El-Din Street – the road between the north and south of the Gaza Strip – fired at a Palestinian taxi that was waiting at the roadblock to be allowed to move towards Khan Yunis.
A passenger, Mohammed Hamad Bureika, 21, was wounded by a live bullet in the face. The Israeli forces claimed that the driver moved when the traffic light was red.

At approximately 03:00, an Israeli combat helicopter fired three rockets at a site of the Palestinian Marine Police in the west of Beit Lahia. A part of the site that served as offices was totally destroyed, but no casualties were reported.
At the same time, two Israeli combat helicopters fired four rockets at the office of Fatah Movement in Deir El-Balah. Two rooms burnt, but no casualties were reported.
