At approximately 15:00 local time, Israeli occupation soldiers positioned at the entrance to a settlement road to the south of Al-Mentar (Karni) Outlet, east of Gaza City, fired at a number of Palestinian demonstrators, wounding Ibrahim Sa’di Fa’our ‘Ayyad, 25, from Al-Shojaeya neighbourhood in Gaza City, with a live bullet to the left shoulder.
In his testimony to PCHR, ‘Ayyad said that he had not participated in any protests against the Israeli forces. PCHR’s field officer in Gaza City reported that Israeli soldiers used guns equipped with silencers to fire at Palestinian demonstrators from a distance of approximately 150m.
At approximately 17:00 local time, dozens of Palestinian young men and children gathered in the southwest of Khan Yunis and threw stones at Israeli occupation soldiers positioned in the vicinity of “Gani Tal” settlement. Those soldiers fired live bullets and tear gas canisters at demonstrators from a distance of approximately 150m. PCHR’s field officer in Khan Yunis reported that Israeli soldiers used guns equipped with silencers to fire at Palestinian demonstrators. Eight demonstrators were wounded as follows:
1) Mohammed Amin Shakshak, 17, wounded by a live bullet in the right foot;
2) Mohammed Riadh Abu ‘Oudeh, 14, wounded by a live bullet in the right foot;
3) Shadi Bashir Qeitah, 18, wounded by a live bullet in the left leg;
4) Ahmed Mohammed Shehdeh, 17, wounded by a live bullet in the buttocks;
5) Hazem Smir Abu Dalal, 14, wounded by a live bullet in the left foot;

At approximately 13:00 local time, Mohammed Fawzi Ahmed Muttair, 20, from Qalandya refugee camp north of Jerusalem, was injured in the head after Israeli occupation soldiers positioned at a military roadblock near Qalandya Airport severely beat him.
At approximately 13:30 local time, Faisal ‘Abdullah Abu Sabha, 29, from Yatta village near Hebron, was injured in the face and the left hand after Israeli occupation soldiers, positioned at a military roadblock at the junction of Beit ‘Ainoun village, severely beat him.

In the afternoon, clashes erupted between the Israeli occupation forces and dozens of Palestinian young men and children who gathered in the southwest of Al-Amal neighborhood in Khan Yunis to throw stones at Israeli patrols in the vicinity of “Gani Tal” settlement, northwest of Khan Yunis. Israeli soldiers fired a hail of live bullets and tear gas canisters at Palestinian demonstrators. Eight demonstrators were wounded as follows:
1) Hassan Frhan Shalloula, 22, wounded by a live bullet in the left leg;
2) Ibrahim Ahmed El-Shanna, 16, wounded by a live bullet in the left leg;
3) Fahed Riadh El-Sa’douni, 12, wounded by a live bullet in the right thigh;
4) Maher Mohammed Abu Ramadan, 21, wounded by a live bullet in the left leg;
5) Mahdi Nabil El-Qedra, 16, wounded by a live bullet in the left leg;
6) Salameh ‘Adnan ‘Awwad, 24, wounded by a live bullet in the right leg;
7) Zaki ‘Abdel-Rahman El-Da’our, 13, wounded by a live bullet in the left leg; and
8) Ahmed Nayef Wadi, 15, wounded by a live bullet in the left leg.
PCHR’s field officer in Khan Yunis reported that many Palestinian civilians suffered from tear gas inhalation.
At approximately 13:00 local time, Israeli occupation forces, positioned in the vicinity of City Inn Hotel and on nearby buildings, fired at Palestinian civilians who were demonstrating at the northern entrance to Al-Bireh, approximately 150m away from the Israeli forces. Three Palestinian civilians and a foreign journalist were wounded as follows:
1) Bassam El-Salhi, 40, from Al-Bireh, member of the political bureau of the Palestinian People Party, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the right hand;
2) Faraj ‘Abdel-Rahman Rummana, 28, from Al-’Am’ari refugee camp, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the head;
3) Maher ‘Oudeh Ahmed ‘Arar, 17, from Qarawat Bani Zaid village, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the left leg; and
4) Shizizu Kathamatu, 43, wounded by shrapnel from a live bullet in the right hand while covering the clashes.
A number of Palestinian civilians also suffered from tear gas inhalation.
At approximately 13:15 local time, a peaceful march moved from the center of Halhoul town, north of Hebron, towards the northern entrance to the town. Palestinian civilians removed a sandy roadblock established by the Israeli occupation forces to close the main road leading to their town.
Israeli soldiers fired at those civilians, wounding seven of them, including two medics, as follows:
1) Ra’fat Ismail Abu Rayan, 20, from Halhoul, a medic of the Palestinian Union of Medical Relief Committees, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the left foot;
2) Ussama Rashad Shweiki, 32, from Hebron, a medic of the Palestine Red Crescent Society, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the left leg;
3) Mahmoud Mesbah Ibrahim Abu Zalata, 10, from Halhoul, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the right hand;
4) ‘Ali Mohammed ‘Abdullah ‘Ayaydeh, 24, from Al-Shyoukh village, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the head;
5) ‘Aatef Mohammed Yousef Jaradat, 32, from Sa’ir village, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the right hand;
6) Mahmoud ‘Abdel-Latif Abu Yousef, 13, from Halhoul, wounded by a live bullet in the left thigh; and
7) Mohammed ‘Abdel-Rahman Edris, 17, from Hebron, wounded by a rubber-coated bullet in the right thigh.
At approximately 14:00 local time, Israeli occupation forces, positioned at demarcation lines in Hebron, fired at a number of Palestinian civilians who were demonstrating in Al-Shallala Street. Two civilians were wounded as follows:
1) Ahmed Yusri El-‘Oweiwi, 15, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the left leg; and
2) Mohammed As’ad Shahin, 17, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the right thigh.
At approximately 15:00 local time, Israeli occupation soldiers, positioned at Sarda roadblock on Ramallah-Bir Zeit, fired at a number of Palestinian civilians who were demonstrating near the mentioned roadblock. Rima Hussein ‘Ali Joudeh, 20, was wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the right foot.
At approximately 18:00 local time, Israeli occupation soldiers fired at a number of Palestinian civilians in ‘Aaboud village northwest of Ramallah, while they were on their lands that were razed by the Israeli occupation forces. Two civilians were wounded as follows:
1) Yousef ‘Abdel-Majid El-‘Omar, 45, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the left leg; and
2) Sa’d Elias Ebshareya, 70, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the head.
Attacks by Settlers against Palestinian Civilians
At approximately 10:00 local time, settlers attacked ‘Aaboud village again, while bulldozers of the Israeli occupation forces were razing areas of Palestinian agricultural land.

At approximately 18:00 local time, Israeli occupation forces, positioned in the vicinity of” Gani Tal,” northeast of Khan Yunis, fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters at a number of Palestinian youth who were throwing stones at Israeli soldiers in the west of Al-Amal neighborhood. Eight demonstrators were wounded as follows:
1) Ibrahim ‘Abdel-Karim El-Salmi, 12, wounded by a live bullet in the left foot;
2) Akram Samara Safi, 13, wounded by a live bullet in the left leg;
3) Mohammed Ibrahim Ba’ara, 16, wounded by a live bullet in the left shoulder;
4) Hassan Hamad El-Sissi, 17, wounded by two live bullets in both feet;
5) Mousa ‘Aadel Abu Mustafa, 17, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the head;
6) Samir Haidar Kellab, 18, wounded by three live bullets in the right foot;
7) Ne’mat Mohammed Fayadh, seriously wounded by a live bullet in the chest under the heart; and
8) Ra’ed Sha’ban El-Tabesh, 38, wounded by shrapnel in the right hand.
PCHR’s field officer in Khan Yunis reported that El-Tabesh did not participate in these clashes and that he was wounded when he was inside his home. He added that many people fainted due to tear gas inhalation.
Attacks by Settlers against Palestinian Civilians
Dozens of settlers armed with guns and iron bars attacked a number of Palestinian civilian cars at Bethlehem-Hebron road and at other junctions leading to the Palestinian villages of Taqqou’, Za’tara, Al-Menia, Sa’ir and Beit ‘Aynoun.
Five Palestinian civilian cars were severely damaged while four Palestinian civilians were injured as follows:
1) Samer Yousef Taha, 27, from Hebron, whose right hand was broken. He also suffered injuries throughout the body;
2) Tahani ‘omran Mahanna, 20, from Hebron, pregnant in the fifth month, injured in the left hand and bruised in the face and the back;
3) Mahmoud ‘Abdel-Hamid Ekhlil, 32, from Beit Ummar village near Hebron, injured in the right hand and the forehead; and
4) Nader ‘Abdel-Mo’ez El-Manasra, 26, from Bani Na’im village near Hebron, injured in the face and the extremities.
At approximately 23:00 local time, a number of settlers from “Halmish” settlement to the northwest of Ramalllah raided Palestinian agricultural land in Wadi Raya area in Deir Nizham village near Ramallah. They uprooted dozens of trees and set fire to 15 dunums of land.
The Israeli occupation forces, which were present in the area then, prevented Palestinians from putting out the fire.
The mentioned attack coincided with an attack by settlers from the same settlement against lands of ‘Aaboud village northeast of Ramallah. According to eyewitnesses, Israeli occupation forces, which were deployed in the area, did not intervene to stop the attack.

At approximately 22:30 local time, Israeli occupation forces, positioned in the vicinity of “Gadid” and “Neve Dekalim” settlements to the west of Khan Yunis, fired heavy and medium caliber bullets at Palestinian houses in Al-Baten Al-Samin area and Zo’rob neighborhood in Khan Yunis.
Mohammed Ahmed Sallam, 40, was injured with shrapnel in the right leg, and several houses were damaged.

The truck was traveling from Hebron to Ramallah through a bypass road when a settler car traveled past it near ‘Anata village to the east of Jerusalem. Settlers opened fire on the truck, killing its driver ‘Awni ‘Abdel-Ra’ouf ‘Ali El-Haddad, 42, father of 7 children, with several live bullets, and wounding ‘Awwad ‘Abdel-Jawad Abu Mayala, 50, and his sons Taher, 20, and Ahmed, 23. All the victims were from Hebron.

At approximately 01:00 local time, Israeli occupation forces, positioned in the vicinity of Al-Tuffah roadblock and Neve Dekalim settlement to the west of Khan Yunis, fired artillery shells and heavy and medium caliber bullets at Palestinian houses in the western part of Khan Yunis refugee camp. A number of houses that had been shelled during the past months received more damage.
At midnight, the Israeli occupation forces shelled a fuel station of Yousef Bahloul company, located in Al-Salam neighborhood in the southeast of Rafah. The Israeli forces fired three artillery shells containing tiny, metal Flechette arrows that dispersed over a residential area adjacent to the aforementioned fuel station.
Three Palestinian civilians, who were approximately 150-200m to the north of the fuel station, were injured as follows:
1) Tariq Sami Jamal El-Tawil, injured by shrapnel in the feet, the legs and the reproductive system;

A number of houses that had been shelled during the past months received more damage.

Warsh Agha was wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the head, fired by Israeli soldiers from a distance of approximately 15m, during clashes at the northern entrance to Al-Bireh on Tuesday, June 5, 2001. He had been in the intensive care unit at Sheikh Zayed Hospital.
According to medical sources, a rubber-coated metal bullet entered the left side of the victim’s head and broke the skull, and parts of the brain exited out of the head. Warsh Agha was a policeman, but he was wearing civilian clothes and was not armed when he was wounded.

At approximately 12:00 local time, Israeli occupation forces, positioned in “Halmish” settlement to the northwest of Ramallah, fired heavy and medium caliber bullets at Palestinian houses and farms in Nabi Saleh village, approximately 800m away. Four sheep belonging to Mohammed ‘Abdel-Nabi Hamada El-Shalaldeh were killed. Palestinian civilians were also terrified.
Late at night, Mohammed ‘Abdel-Rahman El-Kurdi, 18, from Rafah was pronounced dead from a previous injury he received when Israeli occupation forces, positioned at the border with Egypt south of Rafah, fired artillery shells and heavy and medium caliber bullets at Palestinian houses in Block “J” area in Rafah refugee camp.
El-Kurdi was then seriously wounded with a live bullet in the right shoulder. He was evacuated to Shifa’ Hospital in Gaza City, and from there, he was transferred to the Israeli Ekhlilov Hospital, where he stayed until he succumbed to his injury late at night.
At approximately 22:30 local time, Israeli occupation soldiers in tanks fired heavy and medium caliber bullets at Palestinian civilians in Beit Rima village near Ramallah. Houses approximately 1,500m away were hit, and three Palestinian civilians from a single family were injured as follows:
1) Zuhour Yousef Ahmed ‘Aqel, 61, injured by shrapnel from a heavy caliber bullet in the left leg;
2) Samar ‘Abdel-Mou’ti Mohammed ‘Aqel, 19, injured by shrapnel in the right leg; and
3) Mohammed ‘Abdel-Mou’ti Mohammed ‘Aqel, 15, injured by shrapnel in the right hand.
Attacks by Settlers against Palestinian Civilians
In the afternoon, the body of Jamil Qassem Mohammed El-Turk, 47, from Kufor EL-Dik village near Salfit, was brought to the UNRWA hospital in Qalqilya. El-Turk was severely beaten by extremist Jews while he was working on a farm in Tamra inside the Green Line.
His family was informed about his death by a phone call by Israeli police on Thursday, June 7, 2001. According to medical sources at the UNRWA hospital, the victim was exposed to severe physical violence that caused four breaks in the skull, and several breaks, injuries and bruises throughout the body.
The Israeli occupation forces issued permits to his family to go to the forensic medicine institute in Abu Kabir to receive his body, but the administration of the institute refused to give them a copy of the results of the autopsy under an order by Israeli police.

At approximately 10:30 local time, a number of Palestinian civilians, mostly Bir Zeit University students, organized a peaceful march that moved from near Best Eastern Hotel in Al-Bireh towards a roadblock of the Israeli occupation forces near Sarda village, at Ramallah-Bir Zeit road. Israeli occupation soldiers, positioned at a crossroads of Ramallah-Bir Zeit Road and a settlement road, opened fire on the march.
Seventeen Palestinian civilians from the cities of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, including a journalist, were wounded as follows:
1) Firas Tannina, a correspondent of Al-Ayyam daily local newspaper, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the chest;

3) Ebaa’ ‘Omar Faraj El-Barghouthi, 23, wounded by two rubber-coated metal bullets in the right thigh;

According to an investigation conducted by a PCHR field officer, the Israeli occupation forces fired a number of artillery shells at a Palestinian residential area in the south of Gaza City, where Bedouin families are living in tents. There were no reported clashes in the area at the time of the shelling. This incident indicates that the pattern of shelling of Palestinian residential areas by the Israeli occupation forces has not ceased in spite of Israeli government statements to the contrary.
A PCHR investigation revealed that at approximately 23:00 local time on Saturday, June 9, 2001, Israeli occupation forces, positioned in the vicinity of Netzarim settlement, south of Gaza City, fired four artillery shells at tents housing Palestinian Bedouin families located approximately 2km north of the settlement. According to eyewitnesses, this was an unprovoked attack on a civilian residential area.
One artillery shell exploded near where four women of the El-Malalha family were sitting. Three of the women were killed:
4) Nasra Salem Hafezh El-Malalha, 65, from multiple shrapnel wounds;
5) Hekmat ‘Attallah El-Malalha, 17, the first victim’s daughter, from multiple shrapnel wounds; and
6) Selmia ‘Omar Ghanem El-Malalha, 37, the two victims’ relative, from multiple shrapnel wounds.
Hekmat ‘Attallah El-Malalha and Selmia ‘Omar Ghanem El-Malalha died instantly. Nasra Salem Hafezh El-Malalha was pronounced dead early this morning. The fourth woman, Nasra Salem Hussein El-Malalha, 65, sustained shrapnel wounds to the back and the chest.
A second artillery shell exploded near Hussein Mohammed Hussein El-Atram, a 28-year-old disabled civilian, while he was making his way towards a tent near his own. Hussein Mohammed Hussein El-Atram sustained a shrapnel injury in the right thigh.
A third artillery shell exploded near a flock of animals owned by Mohammed Hussein El-Atram and Hassan Salem El-Hawari. Thirteen sheep, a camel and a donkey were killed.
A fourth artillery shell exploded in an open area. No casualties were reported.

After Friday prayers, a peaceful march moved from the centre of Khan Yunis towards al-Tuffah roadblock to the west of the city, in protest of practices by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people. As soon as the march came close to the aforementioned roadblock, Israeli occupation soldiers fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters at protesters.
Three Palestinian civilians were wounded with live ammunition, and dozens suffered from respiratory problems due to tear gas inhalation. The wounded were:
1) Ra’ed Hamed Abu Touha, 16, wounded by a live bullet in the right leg;
2) ‘Aadel Medlah Sa’ada, 40, wounded by a live bullet in the left foot; and
3) ‘Essam El-Sharif, 18, wounded by shrapnel from a live bullet in the right thigh.
At the same time, clashes erupted between Palestinian civilians and the Israeli occupation forces near demarcation lines in Hebron. Israeli soldiers fired live and rubber-coated metal bullets at civilians, wounding:
1) Fadi Ismail Jaddou’ El-Jamal, 18, with a rubber-coated metal bullet in the right arm;
2) Mohammed Hussein El-‘Ajlouni, 16, with a rubber-coated metal bullet in the left hand; and
3) Ref’at Mohammed Abu Munshar, 19, with a rubber-coated metal bullet in the abdomen.
At approximately 18:00 local time, Israeli occupation forces, positioned in the vicinity of Neve Dekalim settlement, fired at Mohammed Walid Mahmoud Hamdan, 18, from Khan Yunis refugee camp, wounding him seriously with a live bullet in the abdomen.
He was evacuated to Shifa’ hospital in Gaza City for treatment. PCHR’s field officer in Khan Yunis reported that Hamdan was wounded when he was near the fence of the aforementioned settlement. There were no reports of violence in the area prior to the shooting.
At approximately 19:30 local time, Israeli occupation forces, positioned at a military site on the Israeli side of the eastern border of the Gaza Strip, south of Al-Mentar (Karni ) Outlet, opened fire on a number of Palestinian civilians, approximately 400m away, who were watching land leveling by Israeli bulldozers. Two civilians were wounded as follows:
1) Majed ‘Aayesh Abu Jabal, 25, from Al-Shojaeya neighborhood in Gaza City, wounded by two live bullets in the right leg and the left forearm; and
2) Mohammed Frajallah El-‘Omrani, 22, from AlShojaeya neighborhood in Gaza City, wounded by two live bullets in the chest and the abdomen.
At approximately 00:30 local time, Israeli occupation forces, positioned in the vicinity of Neve Dekalim settlement, west of Khan Yunis, fired artillery shells and heavy and medium caliber bullets at Palestinian houses in Khan Yunis refugee camp.
As a result of such shelling, which continued sporadically until 03:00 local time, facades of a number of houses that had been frequently shelled during Al-Aqsa Intifada, were damaged.

At the same time, clashes erupted between Palestinian civilians and the Israeli occupation forces near demarcation lines in Hebron. Israeli soldiers fired live and rubber-coated metal bullets at civilians, wounding:
1) Fadi Ismail Jaddou’ El-Jamal, 18, with a rubber-coated metal bullet in the right arm;
2) Mohammed Hussein El-‘Ajlouni, 16, with a rubber-coated metal bullet in the left hand; and
3) Ref’at Mohammed Abu Munshar, 19, with a rubber-coated metal bullet in the abdomen.
At approximately 18:00 local time, Israeli occupation forces, positioned in the vicinity of Neve Dekalim settlement, fired at Mohammed Walid Mahmoud Hamdan, 18, from Khan Yunis refugee camp, wounding him seriously with a live bullet in the abdomen.
He was evacuated to Shifa’ hospital in Gaza City for treatment. PCHR’s field officer in Khan Yunis reported that Hamdan was wounded when he was near the fence of the aforementioned settlement. There were no reports of violence in the area prior to the shooting.
At approximately 19:30 local time, Israeli occupation forces, positioned at a military site on the Israeli side of the eastern border of the Gaza Strip, south of Al-Mentar (Karni ) Outlet, opened fire on a number of Palestinian civilians, approximately 400m away, who were watching land leveling by Israeli bulldozers. Two civilians were wounded as follows:
1) Majed ‘Aayesh Abu Jabal, 25, from Al-Shojaeya neighborhood in Gaza City, wounded by two live bullets in the right leg and the left forearm; and
2) Mohammed Frajallah El-‘Omrani, 22, from AlShojaeya neighborhood in Gaza City, wounded by two live bullets in the chest and the abdomen.
At approximately 00:30 local time, Israeli occupation forces, positioned in the vicinity of Neve Dekalim settlement, west of Khan Yunis, fired artillery shells and heavy and medium caliber bullets at Palestinian houses in Khan Yunis refugee camp.
As a result of such shelling, which continued sporadically until 03:00 local time, facades of a number of houses that had been frequently shelled during Al-Aqsa Intifada, were damaged.

At approximately 10:00 local time, Bir Zeit University students organized a peaceful march that moved from the university towards a roadblock of the Israeli occupation forces near Sarda village at Ramallah-Bir Zeit road, in protest of the continued closure of the road by the Israeli forces. As soon as the march arrived at the roadblock, at approximately 10:30 local time, Israeli soldiers fired rubber-coated metal bullets at students, wounding two of them:
1) Nasser Jihad ‘Eid, 20, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the face; and
2) Muhannad Ya’qoubi, 20, wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the right shoulder.
Israeli soldiers also fired at a Palestinian journalist, Rebhi El-Kubari, 33, from Ramallah, a correspondent of a local television station. He was wounded with four rubber-coated metal bullets, three in the right leg and one in the left shoulder.
At approximately 13:00 local time, Israeli occupation forces, in tanks positioned at the border with Egypt south of Rafah, fired at a number of Palestinian civilians near houses next to the border. Two civilians were injured as follows:
1) Ibrahim Mohammed Abu Dhebaa’, 19, injured by shrapnel in the right arm; and
2) Na’el Ahmed Abu Taha, 25, injured by shrapnel in the head.
At approximately 17:30 local time, Israeli occupation forces, positioned in the vicinity of Neve Dekalim settlement, west of Khan Yunis, fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters at a number of Palestinian children who were demonstrating approximately 150m away.
Ahmed Mohammed Zo;rob, 17, was injured with shrapnel from a live bullet in the left foot, and some children suffered from suffocation due to tear gas inhalation.

After a series of attacks on Palestinian houses and schools in Al-Sawia and Al-Lubban Al-Sharqi villages near Nablus by settlers in the morning, clashes erupted between Palestinian civilians and the Israeli occupation forces which fired live ammunition, rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas canisters.
A number of Palestinian civilians were wounded, and the Israeli occupation forces refused ambulances entry to the two villages to evacuate the wounded. The following people were wounded in the incident:
1) Hassan Mohammed ‘Oweis, 23, from Al-Sawia village, wounded with a live bullet in the thigh;
2) Mohammed Darwish, 23, from Al-Sawia village, wounded with a rubber-coated metal bullet in the right hand;
3) Muyassar Abu Ras, 40, from Al-Sawia village, wounded with a rubber-coated metal bullet in the back;
4) Nasfat Abu Kafina, 19, from Al-Sawia village, wounded with a rubber-coated metal bullet in the back;
5) Shawkat Jasser Sa’id, 23, from Al-Sawia viallage, wounded with a tear gas canister in the head; and
6) Salah Mohammed Hassan, 25, from Al-Lubban Al-Sharqi village, wounded with a live bullet in the abdomen.
At approximately 10:00 local time, Ahmed Salah ‘Awadh, 16, from Rafah, was wounded with a live bullet in the left leg, when he was passing by Al-Barazil neighborhood near the border with Egypt south of Rafah.
According to PCHR’s investigation, Israeli occupation soldiers in a tank passing at the border fired at ‘Awadh although there had been no clashes in the area. ‘Awadh was evacuated to Mohammed Yousef Al-Najjar (Al-Joneina) hospital in Rafah.
Attacks by Settlers against Palestinian Civilians
At approximately 07:00 local time, large groups of settlers attacked Al-Sawia village, which had been under curfew imposed by the Israeli occupation forces since 21:00 local time the previous day. They opened fire on Palestinian houses, terrifying Palestinian civilians.
Two hours later, settlers raided some houses, breaking their windows, doors and furniture.
They also set fire to some houses and farms. These settler attacks, which took place with the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, resulted in the destruction of three Palestinian houses, making their 31 residents homeless.
Settlers also broke windows, doors and furniture of another five houses.
Later, settlers attacked three Palestinian schools on the Ramallah-Nablus road. They broke windows and doors of the three schools and set fire to two of them, a secondary school and an elementary school.
According to eyewitnesses, the Israeli occupation forces prevented the Palestinian civil defense men from entering the area to put out the fires.

According to eyewitnesses, students protested against this measure by the Israeli occupation forces, especially since it came at the time of final term exams. In response, Israeli occupation soldiers fired live ammunition, rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas canisters at the students. One student, Raji El-Nejma, 20, was wounded with a rubber-coated metal bullet in the left hand, and a number of students fainted due to tear gas inhalation.

Israeli occupation soldiers opened fire at a site of the Palestinian National Security Forces, wounding Staff Sergeant Sharif Ismail El-Tawil, 20, with a live bullet in the left thigh.
At approximately 12:30 local time, Israeli occupation soldiers fired at a number of Palestinian children who were demonstrating near demarcation lines at the center of Hebron. A bystander, Ahmed Shehdeh Dandis, 50, was wounded with a rubber-coated metal bullet in the abdomen.
At approximately 15:30 local time, Israeli occupation soldiers, positioned at the northern entrance to Al-Bireh, opened fire on a Palestinian peaceful march. The march which was progressing from the center of Ramallah towards an Israeli military roadblock, was held to commemorate the 24th anniversary of the occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip by Israel in 1967.
Nassim Nasser Warsh Agha, 19, from Beit Lahia in the northern area of the Gaza Strip, was hit by a rubber-coated bullet in the head, breaking open his skull. According to medical sources, he is in a critical condition. El-Agha, a Palestinian policeman, was shot from a distance of 15m. He was participating in the peaceful march in civilian uniform and was unarmed.
At approximately 17:00 local time, the Israeli occupation forces broke into Zeita village near Tulkarm and fired at a number of Palestinian young men and children who clashed with them.
The incident lasted until 18:00 local time, during which a 15-year-old child, Nasser Jaber Mar’ei Shuqeiru, was wounded with a live bullet in the left leg, and his brother Amir, 21, was wounded with a live bullet in the right foot.
